Prime Materia will serve lore-infused elixirs and edible curiosities

Meow Wolf Grapevine, also known as The Real Unreal, is set to open an interactive bar experience offering unique drinks and immersive art.

Opening on 20 June, Prime Materia expands the narrative universe of The Real Unreal and is described as a cocktail bar, snack station and interactive installation.

“Prime Materia is an exciting step forward for Meow Wolf Grapevine,” said Meow Wolf Grapevine’s general manager Jamie Weaver-Garia.

“It deepens the experience, invites repeat visits, and shows how we continue to push the boundaries of immersive storytelling.”

An in-exhibition bar for all ages, Prime Materia will offer lore-infused elixirs, edible curiosities, new art, and a curious cast of characters known as the Gizmo_Mancers.

Guests will be encouraged to uncover secrets through custom drink recipes, environmental details and conversations with the Gizmo_Mancer mixologists behind the bar.

According to Meow Wolf, the Gizmo_Mancers are a group of “alchemical technologists who have mastered the art of brewing concoctions from digital code”.

Immersive F&B at The Real Unreal

Drinks to be created by the Gizmo_Mancers include the Overclocked Margarita, Elderberry Gin Potion, and Cold Brew Tincture.

“Prime Materia is powered by the Gizmo_Mancers’ developed techniques of source_hacking and transmutronics,” said Tommy Schaatz-Thompson, director of exhibition and facilities at Meow Wolf Grapevine.

“Meow Wolf’s newest attraction is at the crossroads of alchemy and circuitry, turning rare decoded elements into delicious brews.”

Radio Tave, Meow Wolf’s Houston venue, also includes a story-driven F&B experience called Cowboix Hevvven, a surreal dive bar in the afterlife.

The honky-tonk drinking establishment is an immersive space with a working restaurant and bar, as well as a “weeping grief creature”.

As well as its Texas locations, Meow Wolf has exhibitions in Santa Fe (The House of Eternal Return), Las Vegas (Omega Mart), and Denver (Convergence Station). The company is creating another location in Los Angeles.
