The Museum of Sex is coming to Miami. The NYC attraction‘s newest and largest outpost will open in Florida in spring 2023.
Designed in collaboration with Snøhetta, the Museum of Sex is housed in a 32,000-square-foot building. It will feature three large exhibition galleries, a retail space and a bar.
Visitors will enjoy humorously explicit games and amusements in an enhanced edition of the museum’s blockbuster installation, ‘Super Funland: Journey into the Erotic Carnival’.
“Our inaugural programming perfectly embodies our ambitions to be a thought-provoking forum around sex and sexuality, and to bring forth a unique, publicly loved, and critically acclaimed cultural offering to Miami,” said Daniel Gluck, the executive director and founder of the Museum of Sex.
The new Museum of Sex is opening with an exhibition by Japanese artist Hajime Sorayama. This will include four of Sorayama’s famous ‘sexy robot’ sculptures, a ‘sexy robot walking’ sculpture, and 20 erotic paintings.
Another exhibition, titled ‘Modern Sex: 100 Years of Design and Decency’, is a retrospective on the design and marketing of sexual health products from the 1920s to today.
It features more than 500 artefacts, historical media and medical objects, including the cure-all vibrator of the 1950s.
Inspired by the carnal origins of the carnival dating back to the Roman Bacchanalia, ‘Super Funland: Journey into the Erotic Carnival’ is a permanent immersive experience.

The Miami installation will offer 20 interactive amusements and games, including four new additions, Devil’s Teacup, Attack of the 50′ Woman, the SizeMologist and Merlandia.
It was designed in partnership with Bompas & Parr, Bart Hess, Rebecca Purcell, and RuPaul.
Elsewhere, Reykjavík is home to the Icelandic Phallological Museum, which boasts the world’s largest display of penises.
The Vagina Museum, the first vulva museum in the world, opened in London in 2019.
