Disney World has announced a Maleficent roller coaster and a Magic Mirror dark ride for its villains-themed expansion at Magic Kingdom.
During Disney's D23 fan event over the weekend, Disney World also revealed the name of its new addition, which is called Villains Land.
On the Maleficent-themed coaster, guests will race through enchanted briar surrounding the vengeful fairy's mountaintop fortress.
At D23, the Imagineering team teased that the new coaster will include elements they’ve never attempted before on similar attractions.
As for the other attraction in Villains Land, this will be a dark ride featuring a series of Disney villains and hosted by the Magic Mirror from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
During the ride experience, guests will be immersed in the Magic Mirror's ethereal realm, brought to life through special effects and set pieces.
“Villains Land is such an exciting addition to the Magic Kingdom, because it allows us to expand the park’s storytelling in a way that feels both fresh and true to its legacy and fairytale roots,” said Caroline May, executive creative director at Walt Disney Imagineering.
"We have an incredibly talented and passionate team working behind the scenes every day to make sure this land captures the power, magic, and mischievous (and sometimes humorous) spirit of the Disney villains, and it’s been incredibly rewarding to see that fans are just as excited as we are for what’s ahead."
At D23, Disney also unveiled the second attraction coming to Piston Peak National Park, Magic Kingdom's new Cars-themed area.

Miss Fritter's Daredevil Spin-Along will feature Miss Fritter as a “huge school-bus-sized animatronic” who hosts a stampeding bash at her “wildest demolition derby yet", said Michael Hundgen, vice president creative for Walt Disney World.
More details were also revealed around Piston Peak's previously announced racing attraction, called Cars Ridge Run Rally.
The attraction will debut a completely new ride vehicle, designed as an actual off-road car.
Guests will "feel every bump, drop and rock because this vehicle’s tires and suspension are truly driving over and reacting to them", said Hundgen.
