nWave Pictures, a multinational producer and distributor of immersive 3D/4D content, is celebrating strong end-of-year results, with its latest release, Chickenhare and the Secret of the Groundhog, which has attracted millions of moviegoers across the globe.
This milestone reflects the film's growing success and the enthusiasm of audiences worldwide.
The film follows Chickenhare on another exciting adventure to find the mysterious Groundhog, who has the power to reverse time and save his species. When Chickenhare and his friends discover they are not the only ones seeking this ancient power, the adventure becomes perilous.
Chickenhare and the Secret of the Groundhog premiered at the Annecy Festival, the world's largest animation festival, in June 2025. An extensive international rollout began in South Africa in September, with France and the Benelux countries following in October.
Wide-reaching success
The movie achieved chart-topping success in France and Belgium over the autumn period, ranking as the number one family movie.
"In France, we are delighted to share that Hopper and the Secret of the Groundhog (FR title) has reached over 830,000 admissions and counting, with a forecasted final BO around 1M admissions, since its release on October 15th!" says a spokesperson from the company.
Belgium has also performed strongly, with the film topping the box office during the autumn holiday period from its first week.
Alongside the film’s success, the 3D/4D attraction film Meg and the Quest for the Holy Spork, also based on the franchise, is performing exceptionally well.
"In fact, leading theme parks around the world — whose names we cannot reveal for now — have already selected the film Meg and the Quest for the Holy Spork 4D," says the company.
"We are very proud to see our animated heroes continue to win over families beyond the box office."
This 3D/4D adventure, which features Meg, the beloved skunk from the Chickenhare franchise, pushes the limits of technology to deliver an outstanding immersive experience.
Together with her friends, Chickenhare and Abe, and her mischievous chameleon sidekicks, Meg must try to find the legendary Holy Spork and overcome steep cliffs, perilous forests, and the fearsome lynx Crolloq.
