Aardman Animations announces world’s first Shaun the Sheep Illuminations

Aardman Animations Ltd., the award-winning UK studio, presents a new Shaun the Sheep immersive illumination experience in Tawada, Japan.

Rosa & Berry IlluminationsAardman Animation Ltd. is pleased to announce that the world’s first Shaun the Sheep illumination experience has debuted at Rosa & Berry’s winter illuminations, at the Shaun the Sheep Farm Garden in Tawada, Japan.

This new immersive illumination experience is the largest of its kind in the Kansai region of Japan. It opened on Friday 23 October 2020 and will now run until Sunday 28 March 2021. The ‘Rosa & Berry Illumination Fairy Fiesta – Lighting Performance on the Hill’ is the first illumination experience in the world to feature the beloved character.

Shaun the Sheep lights up in Japan

This immersive experience covers around 60,000 square metres and includes approximately 800,000 LD lightbulbs of different colours. Thanks to this innovative new attraction, fans will be able to experience the much-loved world of Shaun the Sheep in a new way with a brilliantly illuminated Mossy Bottom Farm.

The event is part of Rosa & Berry’s long-term business plan, which aims to revitalise the local tourist industry.

Shaun the Sheep Illuminations

The Shaun the Sheep Farm Garden at the Tawada attraction has already been enjoyed by around 240,000 visitors per year since it first opened in March 2019.

Aardman is continuing to develop its portfolio of Shaun the Sheep attractions and live experiences in the region. For instance, it is opening the latest addition to the Shaun the Sheep Family Farm café outlets at Mioka Kamiooka, Yokohama this month.

Last month, the company also announced that The Art of Aardman – Shaun the Sheep and Friends exhibition is now open at Forum Groningen in the Netherlands.
