AV solutions specialist, Christie, and its Chinese partner, Wincomn Technology, are powering a range of spectacular visual attractions at the new Nanchang Wanda Cultural Tourism City in China’s Jiangxi Province.
The city’s Nanchang Wanda Park and Nanchang Wanda Ocean Park have both been kitted out with around 130 Christie projectors to deliver state-of-the-art immersive guest experiences.
One of the hottest tickets at Nanchang Wanda Park is “Flyover Jiangxi”, a breath-taking flight simulation ride that ‘flies’ guests over the mountain peaks of Lushan National Park, cities such as Nanchang and Ganzhou, the magnificent Yangtze River and more. This has been created using 8 Christie D4K3560 3DLP projectors on two domed screens.
Major VR attraction, named after Chinese mythological figure Zhong Kui, employs up to 100 Christie projectors to create a 3D virtual environment where guests can shoot simulated projectiles at virtual targets to score points.
“I’m confident that visitors at Nanchang Wanda Park and Ocean Park will be thrilled with the excellent visuals presented using Christie’s cutting-edge projection systems, ” commented Tony Chen, General Manager, Wincomn Technology.
Wanda Cultural Tourism City occupies 200 hectares and is Wanda Group’s first city-size culture and tourism project. Indoor theme park, Nanchang Wanda Park offers 3D rides and immersive dome experiences showcasing Chinese cultural themes and popular folklore characters. Nanchang Wanda Ocean Park is a vast shopping mall offering dining, hotels and entertainment including the world’s largest indoor aquarium.
“We’re very pleased to work closely with our valued partner Wincomn Technology on the installations and look forward to transporting visitors to exciting virtual worlds where they can enjoy vivid adventures in totally immersive environments, ” added Lin Yu, Vice President, Christie Asia Pacific.
