Global provider of leading-edge visual solutions, Christie Digital, is powering interactive 3D projection mapping art at the 25th 3D & Virtual Reality Expo (IVR).

IVR, held at the Tokyo Big Sight exhibition centre, is the country’s largest exhibition for 3D and high definition image technology.

Christie’s multi-zone display includes a range of visual solutions as well as providing a showcase for Christie Japan’s long association with the automotive industry.

Divided into five zones, the Christie booth is packed with eye-catching projection mapping and integration ‘tool kit’ demonstrations promoting content engagement and interaction.

“At this year’s IVR trade show, we are exhibiting the latest range of solutions in display technology under the innovative theme of ‘art + technology’, which enables visitors to experience our high-quality and interactive visual solutions in a creative and artistic manner,” explains Mamoru Hanzawa, General Manager, Christie Japan.

One of the highlights is the interactive projection mapping art demonstration on a Mini Cooper powered by Christie Boxer 4K30 3DLP®projectors in 4K. The real-time performance art showpiece features artworks by renowned Japanese artist, Kashihara Shinpei, who specialises in the traditional Japanese art form of “suiboku-ga” (ink painting). Expo attendees can see art in action at the booth as students from Musashino Art University create live “painting” on the Mini at selected timings throughout the show.

“Christie Japan has been leading the way with advanced visualization with our industry-leading technology, innovation and depth of knowledge, and has developed solutions that make it easy for customers to meet design goals and create a virtual simulation out of any surface and environment imaginable,” adds Lin Yu, Vice President, Christie Asia Pacific.

Further demonstrations at the show include high performance visualisation featuring a Christie interactive flat screen, a Captiva 3D system showcase and a presentation of customised content on the company’s MicroTiles.

Christie is renowned worldwide for its innovative visual technology solutions across a wide range of sectors, from retail to Hollywood, mission critical command centres to classrooms and training simulators.
