Christie Provides Stunning Visuals for Disney’s ‘Beauty and the Beast’ Musical, India

News

Global AV solutions company, Christie Digital Systems, delivered stunning visuals for Disney’s musical spectacular, Beauty and the Beast, which premiered in India on October 21st.

The hotly-anticipated stage version of Disney’s much-loved film features over 100 of India’s best musical performers and is the country’s first ever Disney musical event.

Christie utilised five Christie Roadster HD20K-J 3DLP® projectors to project realistic images onto the elaborately decorated stage sets, including Belle’s House, Tavern, Clock Tower and Beast’s castle area with Belle’s bedroom. The immersive Broadway-style show allows a select audience to participate in the action on 360° degree swivel chairs.

“We are extremely pleased by the love and appreciation the show has received from the audiences. The Beast Castle is one of the crucial parts of the story and Christie technologies helped us bring it alive through LED screens, which made the experience for the audiences even more magical, ” commented Vikranth Pawar, Show Director and Creative Head, Live Entertainment, Disney India.

The 130-minute production is in English with shows in Mumbai and Delhi running from October to December 2015.

Lin Yu, vice president, Christie Asia Pacific, said, “We have a longstanding relationship with Disney and this latest collaboration is a testimony of our strong ties built over the years. We are fully committed in ensuring the delivery of the best visual experience for the Indian audience with our ‘Best in Class’ visual solutions.”

Rajesh Patkar, Deputy General Manager, Christie India, added, “This is an epic event that will be remembered by Indian audiences for a long time to come.”
