Cosm, a global technology company that builds end-to-end solutions for immersive experiences, has revealed that its first venue will formally open to the public on 29 June.
The experiential venue is located in Hollywood Park, Los Angeles, and extends to 65,000 square feet. The opening will feature a live Shared Reality production of UFC 303, providing fans with an unprecedented all-access, Octagon-side experience.
Best seat in the house
Cosm’s inaugural fan-facing venue is situated in the centre of the world’s sports and entertainment capital, next to SoFi Stadium and the Intuit Dome at Hollywood Park. It is equipped with an 87-foot diameter 8K+ LED dome which transforms live sports and entertainment.
The Shared Reality experience presents live sports, entertainment, music, immersive art, and other events with a completely new approach. This features cutting-edge architecture and visuals that combine the crowd’s excitement with enhanced food and beverage service. Fans will enjoy the feeling of being in the greatest seat in the house at the most coveted global events.
Cosm will give fight fans in the Los Angeles area the opportunity to experience sitting octagon-side for one of the most anticipated UFC events of the year, UFC 303, which is scheduled to take place on 29 June at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
The firm will hold a number of private events and early access premieres at the venue before it formally opens to the public on 29 June. These events will include live productions of the 2024 NBA Finals and 2024 Stanley Cup Finals, in addition to exclusive immersive exhibitions from internationally recognised creators and artists that are part of the Cosm Studios Creator Program.
Jeb Terry, CEO and president at Cosm, says: “We are thrilled to announce the opening of Cosm Los Angeles. This isn’t just about opening our doors – it’s about unlocking access to the world’s most coveted sports and entertainment events.
“We’ve anticipated this announcement since Cosm started in 2019, and we are thrilled to open with an exceptional lineup of championship events, including the NBA Finals, NHL Stanley Cup Finals, and UFC 303. It’s the perfect slate to reveal our reimagined live sports experience.
“To complement our live sports programming, we will showcase content in collaboration with all our partners, including a portfolio of entertainment offerings featuring an all-access presentation of Cirque Du Soleil, immersive art and audiovisual experiences, and soon-to-be-announced projects in partnership with major studios. This is our first venue opening, but it is not our last. We are excited to usher in this new category of entertainment and introduce Shared Reality to fans around the world.”
Live sport & immersive art experiences
Cosm’s official affiliations with ESPN, the NBA, NBC Sports, TNT Sports, and UFC allow it to offer an expanding variety of live sports. Through this series of collaborations, viewers will be able to watch live Shared Reality broadcasts of major horse racing events, the US Open Tennis, the NBA, NHL, college football and basketball, UFC, and a selection of U.S. Men’s and Women’s National Soccer Team matches, among other events.
The venue will also show immersive art experiences created by Cosm Studios Creator Program participants. Members include award-winning new media artist Nancy Baker Cahill; acclaimed DJ and artist Chris Holmes; filmmaker, director, and Planetary Collective co-founder Guy Reid; and celebrated composer and new media artist Ricardo Romaneiro.
Tickets for Cosm’s launch night presentation of UFC 303 will be available to purchase in May from Cosm’s website and through the company’s fully integrated app. The app will be available soon in the App Store and Google Play Store.
Cosm will release the programme for further events later this year, and will also announce the launch date for its second public venue at Grandscape in The Colony, Texas.
Last month, Cosm announced a new multi-year agreement with ESPN to bring live events from college and professional sports to Cosm’s immersive venues in Shared Reality.
