Electrosonic Provides AV Support for Passenger Welcome Centre, Atlanta Airport

News

Leading AV solutions company, Electrosonic, has provided audio-visual support for the Atlanta Convention & Visitors Bureau’s new welcome centre at the world’s busiest airport.

The new facility at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport features four 4K videowalls showcasing dynamic visual content and visitor information 24/7.

Located next to domestic baggage claim and local transportation, the centre is designed to be both visible and accessible to new arrivals.

“The ACVB had a small booth with overhead monitors before, ” comments Tom Rowat, project manager for Electrosonic. “This is a much larger space with new display solutions that really pop.”

The videowalls employ 40 55-inch Samsung UD55E-P ultra-narrow bezel LED monitors. Four BrightSign 4K video players serve as sources for the four videowalls. The players are hidden behind each of the walls removing the need for a large equipment rack and expensive extenders. Monitors can be controlled individually via a Crestron control system.

“Tom and his team provided top-notch service and design from the onset of the project, ” reports J. Andrew Green, content creator at Green Media Works, Inc. in Atlanta, who were tasked with providing original content for many of the displays.

Electrosonic also designed a remote camera viewing system which uses a 24/7 Internet connection and TeamViewer app to enable off-site maintenance and content updates.

“If there are any technical issues, our local full-time service technicians can use TeamViewer, look at the cameras and check the network connections as if they were on the job site, ” explains Rowat. “Green Media Works also can use TeamViewer to upload new content and see what it looks like on the videowalls without actually being there.”

“The system Electrosonic installed provided exactly what was wanted: It’s simple to use, very powerful and it just works!” adds Green.
