Framestore, the visual effects specialist, has announced the promotion of Karl Woolley to global head of Immersive and the appointment of Mandy Agderian as executive producer.
Woolley, a London-based employee of Framestore who joined in 2005, has been essential to the development and growth of the Immersive team since its start in 2013.
His work includes the innovative #LongLiveThePrince campaign, which last year received the prestigious Cannes Lions Titanium Grand Prix, as well as other award-winning VR experiences for HBO’s Games of Thrones, Samsung’s “A Moon For All Mankind,” and “Field Trip to Mars” with Lockheed Martin.
Karl will be in charge of uniting the London and US Immersive teams under his direction, guaranteeing the most effective approach to projects, and expanding the company internationally.
Global director of business operations Lottie Cooper says: “Karl’s promotion recognises the importance of this area of work for Framestore, as our industry and clients seek to find more ways to address their audiences and consumers through immersive platforms and experiences”.
Woolley adds: “The award-winning projects that Immersive have delivered are a testament to the hard work, commitment, and innovation of our talented team. With an exciting year ahead, I look forward to leading us as we continue to push boundaries and further cement Framestore’s reputation in this space”.
Continued growth
Mandy Agderian joins from The Mill NY and brings with her more than 15 years of experience working on immersive, interactive, and real-time projects. She has worked with well-known companies such as Meta, Chanel, Showtime, HBO, and NBCU.
Agderian, to be based in Framestore’s New York studio, says: “I am looking forward to creating highly immersive experiences that explore technology in new ways, whilst contributing to the continued growth and success of Framestore’s Immersive division”.
The Immersive team at Framestore collaborates with creative IP owners and companies to increase the impact of their fictional worlds. Projects cover location-based entertainment, virtual, physical, and mixed worlds, as well as rides and attractions for theme parks.
