ADG’s Mountain Coaster Thrills Riders at Branson Mountain Adventure Park

News

Leading expert in recreational environments, Aquatic Development Group (ADG), has designed and installed the first mountain coaster in North America’s Ozark Mountains.

Now open at Branson Mountain Adventure Park, the $5 million ‘Runaway Mountain Coaster’ was created to turn the park’s steep terrain into a major attraction.

“The way it goes through the woods and kind of stays close to nature, it’s kind of a different experience than your typical coaster, ” explained Matt Meadows, Project Manager, Branson Mountain.

Designed to suit almost any mountainside location, ADG’s MountainsidesTM solution makes the most of the local topography to create an authentic coaster experience. Riders in two-person carts are pulled up the mountain and then released to travel downhill.

Thanks to a patented braking system, guests can decide whether to go for a full-on, gravity-driven thrill ride or a gentle descent.

The 8-minute ride at Branson Mountain offers the added bonus of panoramic views to enjoy along the way.

“From ages 3 to 93, 100% of the people who rode ‘The Runaway Mountain Coaster’ loved the ride – it was unanimous!” added Meadows.

“The reaction on the faces of at the end of the ride made all the work building up to opening day SO worth it. We couldn’t be more pleased.”

Runaway Mountain Coaster stats:

  • Track length 4, 900ft
  • 330′ elevation lift and descent
  • 2 elevated 360°corkscrews
