Kaboom! Joe Rohde on Bringing the Marvel Universe to Disney

The LA Times features an interview with Disney’s Joe Rohde on how the Marvel universe is being brought to Disney.

Rohde (Walt Disney Imagineering Senior Vice President Creative) is overseeing the transformation of the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror into Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout!.

Rohde reveals that the story behind Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout! will involve our heroes being captured by villian Taneleer Tivan, aka The Collector. Rocky Racoon has escaped and guests must help him free his friends.

He explains that he creates attractions that stand alone for guests, not requiring any prior knowledge. The challenge of course is enabling wisecracking superheroes to be good neighbours for Disney princesses.
