Roundup Rodeo BBQ will be the world’s first Toy Story-themed table service restaurant.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World is opening a new Toy Story-themed restaurant, Roundup Rodeo BBQ, on 23 March.

Located in Toy Story Land, Roundup Rodeo BBQ will be the world’s first Toy Story-themed table service restaurant.

It brings to life the stories and characters from the award-winning Toy Story film franchise. Guests will shrink to the size of a toy, meeting life-size figures of Jessie, Trixie and Bo Peep.

Per a press release from Disney, Andy has created the rodeo arena-style restaurant for his favourite toys. When guests arrive, they become Andy’s honorary toys.

“We are thrilled to work with our partners at Disney Pixar Animation Studios to create this unforgettable dining experience that blends great food, storytelling and whimsy,” said Ben van Beusekom, senior artisan specialist at Walt Disney Imagineering.

“A visit to this special place is a must for Toy Story fans who have come to love Andy and his toys as much as we do.”

As the name suggests, Roundup Rodeo BBQ will serve barbecue-inspired dishes such as ribs, brisket, cheddar biscuits, potato salad, baked beans, slaw and fried pickles.

Last year, Tokyo Disney Resort opened the Toy Story Hotel. The resort’s fifth Disney-themed accommodation is home to oversized toys, an enormous Slinky Dog board game, and guest rooms based on Andy’s bedroom.

Gift Planet is a retail outlet managed by Little Green Men selling exclusive merchandise, and the Lotso Garden Cafe is inspired by Lotso, Toy Story 3‘s pink teddy bear.

Meanwhile, Disney is revising some of the most unpopular policies at its US theme parks, including those related to ticket prices, hotel parking, attraction photos and annual passes.

The decision follows a series of price hikes at Disneyland Resort and Disney World that were made under Disney’s former CEO Bob Chapek.
