Reimagined hotel is replacing Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel

Disneyland has announced an opening date for its new Pixar Place Hotel, set to be the first fully Pixar-themed hotel in the US when it launches on 30 January.

The reimagined hotel is replacing Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel at the resort and overlooks Disney California Adventure.

In the lobby, there is unique art inspired by Pixar films, as well as the iconic Pixar lamp atop its ball. Highlights in the lobby also include a mobile of Pixar characters in their earliest design stages.

Additionally in the lobby is the new Stor-E gift shop, named after Pixar film Wall-E and selling Pixar-themed clothing, toys and souvenirs.

The hotel‘s guest rooms feature pillows inspired by the Pixar ball, Pixar lamps, exclusive art by Pixar Animation Studios artists, and headboards with concept art from films such as The Incredibles and Toy Story 3.

The new Great Maple restaurant will serve a selection of dishes, including Cajun shrimp and cheddar biscuit Benedict, soda pop-braised baby back ribs, maple pecan-crusted salmon, buttermilk fried chicken, and maple bacon donuts.

F&B outlets in the hotel also include the Sketch Pad Café, and a rooftop pool bar called Small Bytes.

Already open at the Pixar Place Hotel is the new Finding Nemo and Finding Dory-themed splash pad and pool area. Highlights here include the Nemo’s Cove water play area and Crush’s Surfin’ Slide.

In more Disneyland news, the resort is planning 16 new rides and an outdoor show as part of its expansion project, dubbed DisneylandForward.

“This is the next generation of the Disneyland resort,” Disneyland president Ken Potrock said in May. “When Disney invests, all boats rise and everyone benefits.”

“The economic engine that is the Disneyland resort will be turning 68 years young in July, yet we believe it has more potential than ever,” he added.
