Tribute to classic Italian road rally launched at special event on Thursday, taking visitors on a breath-taking virtual aerial voyage across beautiful scenic landscape in Italy.

Timed to coincide with the legendary Mille Miglia race celebrations in Italy, members of the UAE Ferrari Owners Club drove in convoy from Dubai to Ferrari World Abu Dhabi for the official launch of the new attraction, the Viaggio in Italia.
The Mille Miglia road race is credited with creating Italy’s Grand Turismo sports car culture.
The family ride is an aerial journey that begins as guests are strapped into specially designed seats inspired by the Ferrari GT seats. Visitors are then lifted 14.5 metres into the air on advanced hydraulic technology, pivoting simulator arms and suspended high above a giant hemispherical domed screen. The arms then swerve and dip riders over projections of some of the most beautiful Italian landmarks.
Visitors take off from the Fiorano circuit in Maranello before being whisked through Venice and the picturesque Tuscany countryside. The new ride then takes guests on a virtual journey throughout Italy where they are accompanied by the most famous sights, smells and sensations of the Italian landscape.
“If you close your eyes, breathe in the pine-scented air and feel the cool mist float over you can almost imagine you are driving through the Italian countryside – Viaggio in Italia is a ride that really brings the Ferrari sensation to life, ” said Andy Keeling, Park Manager of Ferrari World Abu Dhabi.
“This is a unique family ride where every member of the family can immerse themselves in the beauty of their surroundings from a truly exciting vantage point.”
Viaggio in Italia is capable of seating 90 visitors per ride and joins more than 20 Ferrari themed rides and attractions at Ferrari World Abu Dhabi including signature rides, such as the world’s fastest rollercoaster and Formula Rossa.
The ride is suitable for all the family, although height restrictions do apply and is sure to prove a hit with older and younger guests alike.
