Hong Kong's Ocean Park is celebrating a 30% boost in attendance figures for January.
South China Morning Post reports that the park cites the new South Island MTR Line and the early Lunar New Year as contributing factors. The high visitor numbers have also led to increased in-park spending on merchandise and refreshments.
Park chief, Matthias Li Sing-chung, said the improved transport provision had brought more local and mainland visitors who had also stayed at the park for longer.
A daily release of 4,000 heavily discounted tickets for Hong Kong residents has also had a positive impact.
With a growth in Southeast Asian visitors, the park is also considering the need to offer more halal food options.
