IAAPA Plans to Build New Orlando HQ on Darden-Owned Land

The International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) has selected a site for its new global headquarters in Orlando.

According to the Orlando Sentinel, the favoured seven-acre site is currently owned by Darden Restaurants.

IAAPA is reportedly receiving an Orange County incentive package for the relocation from Alexandria, Va.

It it set to receive $48,000 in payments over five years. The commission also approved a seven-year, 50 percent property-tax abatement worth about $65,000.

Approval is being sought for a change of land use from 250 hotel rooms to 150,000 square feet of office space.
