Roxie is the official mascot for the park’s new Minifigure Speedway coaster

Legoland Windsor has unveiled the world’s tallest Lego Minifigure ahead of the launch of its new Minifigure Speedway coaster this year.

Exclusive to the UK theme park, the 30-foot-tall, six-tonne figure named Roxie can now be seen wearing a racing suit at Legoland Windsor.

Roxie was installed by a specialist pit crew and will serve as the official mascot for Minifigure Speedway – the world’s first Lego duelling coaster.

“It’s a big day for all the team at the resort to see the world’s tallest Minifigure, Roxie, take pride of place in our new attraction, Minifigure Speedway,” said Helen Bull, divisional director at Legoland Windsor.

“There’s nowhere else in the world you can see Roxie, she’s entirely bespoke to us here at Legoland Windsor – we can’t wait for everyone to see her.”

Minifigure Speedway will be the park’s fastest roller coaster to date, travelling at speeds of up to 56 km/h).

The £10 million family-friendly ride features cars that race forwards and backwards on duel tracks. It also uses state-of-the-art technology and is manufactured by Zierer.

“The unveiling of Roxie as the world’s tallest Lego Minifigure is a dream come true for me,” said Hannah Phizacklea, lead creative on Minifigure Speedway.

Minifigure Speedway to open this year

“Growing up playing with Lego and visiting the park, it feels very special to have been part of the team that dreamed up an authentic Lego character.

“Roxie is a strong female role model, and it was important we created an iconic character that children can look up to – literally!

“Minifigure Speedway brings a real thrill element to the park especially for older kids who will love the competitiveness of racing against each other as one of the All Stars or Legends.”

Operated by Merlin Entertainments, Legoland Windsor is home to more than 55 rides and attractions, as well as two hotels.
