Weymouth native and mum of two Raquel Cubillo, 36, has been appointed Marketing Manager for Merlin Entertainments‘ new SEA LIFE Tower on the Dorset resort’s Festival Pier.
With a degree in International Marketing Management from Bournemouth university, Raquel spent 12 years working at Weymouth’s New Look, a fashion and clothing retailor, joining initially as a graphic design administrator and reaching the position of International Brand Manager.

“I’d been keeping an eye on Merlin Entertainments for quite a while and was immediately interested when I learned they were looking for a marketing manager for the new Tower, ” Raquel said.
“I’ve been to the Sea Life Park dozens of times, and from what I’ve seen and experienced already there’s a positive, friendly culture within Merlin Entertainments that I really like.”
Raquel’s brief will be to encourage tourists, day-trippers, schools and groups to make a visit to the new Tower a “must see” experience. “I feel privileged to be involved in such an iconic project, ” she said.
Raquel and husband Philip have two small boys, Sebastian (5) and Isaac (2), so it won’t just be Merlin Entertainment’s new SEA LIFE Tower keeping her busy!
