Merlin Entertainments plc, the leading name in location-based, family entertainment, has announced that the first Dungeon attraction in North America will open in San Francisco on June 26th, 2014.
The San Francisco Dungeon, in Fisherman’s Wharf, will draw on the Bay Area’s 200 year-old history from the Gold Rush Era to the criminal gangs of the Barbary Coast and tales from Alcatraz, featuring characters like James “Shanghai” Kelly and Miss Piggott. The 60 minute trip will take visitors through nine interactive, theatrical performances in 360-degree sets and on an underground boat ride.
Adrea Gibbs, General Manager, The San Francisco Dungeon, said, “This world-class city has a unique background suited for us to launch this engaging attraction here. We’ve had amazing access to local actors, costume makers, designers and craftsmen that are all helping us to create a special place for visitors. With the vibrant sets, authentic costumes and detailed make-up, The San Francisco Dungeon delivers an entertaining look at moments in this rich history.”
