PGAV Destinations expands ownership team

News
PGAV new ownership team

PGAV, a global leader in the planning and design of unique destinations, has announced the expansion of its ownership team, effective as of 14 January. Joining Mike Konzen and Mike Schaadt, who have been leading the firm since 2010, are Steve Cramer, Chris Davis, Ashley Edelbrock, Emily Howard, John Kasman, Diane Lochner, and Tom Marschner.

This leadership team reflects the distinctive strengths and culture that define PGAV and embodies the company’s core values. The team has extensive experience across the Destinations and Architects profit centres and the Saint Louis, Kansas City, and Orlando studios, with demonstrated expertise and a combined 151 years of service.

Owned & led by active practitioners

This move, which coincides with the company’s 60th anniversary, marks the next phase in PGAV’s strategic succession plan. Its founders appointed a new generation of leaders to the Board of Directors in 2010, and now the company’s new owners are set to shape its future.

The current and incoming owners will work closely together throughout the transition period. Konzen will continue as board chair, and Schaadt will remain as president and treasurer. The new owners will gain insight and experience by serving as advisory board members.

Furthermore, Steve Troester, who retired on 1 January, will continue to serve on the board until 1 April in order to support the transition of his responsibilities. Andy Struckhoff remains a shareholder and president of PGAV Planners.

While ownership transitions commonly involve private equity, acquisitions, or mergers with other companies, PGAV’s Board remains committed to its position as a design and planning firm owned and led by active practitioners who have contributed to its success over a significant period. This positions the company for ongoing success while maintaining its culture, core values, and market leadership.

PGAV’s ongoing focus is on developing and nurturing a talented team, serving a growing client list, and guaranteeing the continuation of the business for many years to come.

Konzen says: “This transition empowers the new team to assume their new roles smoothly and intentionally. For our employees, this means having a talented leadership team with a deep passion for our industries and dedication to PGAV. They understand who we are and have the vision to make smart, innovative decisions that honor our culture while driving us into the future.”

“This group of leaders has inspired us all to dream bigger, learn more and do more to help our clients, and become more as people and design professionals,” says Schaadt.

Earlier this month, PGAV revealed that it has been engaged by the Air Zoo Aerospace and Science Center, an internationally renowned Smithsonian-affiliated aerospace and science centre in Kalamazoo, Michigan, US, to develop a strategic vision and master plan.
