Ripley Entertainment, which has over 80 tourist attractions in 10 countries, has announced the opening of its new Guinness World Attractions concept in Asia on June 5th 2012 following four years of development on the project.
Ripley Entertainment is no stranger to the entertainment industry, with its 32 Believe It or Not Auditoriums, Believe It or Not books, cartoon shows and Guinness World Record Attractions. However, this new attraction concept will give visitors the opportunity to interact and have a go at beating world records themselves.
The interactive new attraction which is based upon the Guinness World Records will give visitors the chance to test their abilities against a range of world records while having a lot of fun.
“Guinness World Records Attractions is an exciting new development that is sure to appeal to families across Asia, ” said Jim Pattison Jr, president of Ripley Entertainment Inc., based in Orlando, Fla., USA.
The attractions themselves are generally around 2000 square metres and are located in tourist hotspots and have a vibrant frontage to welcome visitors.
“We are delighted to be working with the Guinness World Records team to provide a very interactive, high tech attraction where individuals and families can break world records in a variety of unique and fun ways, ” added Pattison.
To celebrate the grand opening in Hong Kong was Sulten Kösen. Standing at an astonishing 8 feet 3 inches tall, the world’s tallest living man’s appearance emphasised the significance Ripley’s are placing upon this launch.

Asia can expect more Guinness World Record attractions as Ripley Entertainment Inc. actively looks to franchise the concept throughout Asia. They are also searching for developers and entrepreneurs who have available space for company owned Guinness World Records Attractions.
Ripley Entertainment Inc. also owns and operates the venerable Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Odditoriums.
