Leading experience design firm, Scruffy Dog Ltd., has announced the opening of its new office in Barcelona.
The news highlights the company’s rapid global expansion over the past three years.
During that time, Scruffy Dog has vastly expanded its UK factory facilities and creative studio in London. It has also opened a new site office in Dubai.
At the helm of this latest dedicated design studio in Barcelona is recently appointed Creative Director, Diego Cid & Head of Architecture, Maikel Menendez. The pair will be leading a team of crack creative designers and architects, hand-picked from across Europe and beyond.
“One of the main reasons for picking Barcelona as a new creative extension to our family was the local talent pool and growing our team of leading creative minds globally,” says the company.
Recent landmark projects in the UK include turnkey theming for Thorpe Park’s The Walking Dead: The Ride, and concept design for the Wicker Man coaster at Alton Towers. In both cases, the company worked in close collaboration with Merlin Magic Making.
The Walking Dead: The Ride is an immersive multi-sensory roller coaster. Themed on the blockbuster TV show, the ‘relentless and terrifying ride for survival’ features special effects and a replica of the iconic watchtower.
The Wicker Man is the UK’s first new wooden roller coaster for over two decades, wowing visitors with its thrilling 618m ride punctuated by spectacular fire effects.
