SeaWorld makes multiple changes to leadership team

The promotions will help SeaWorld to “better execute our plans and initiatives“.

SeaWorld has announced multiple changes to its leadership team to help the company “deliver improved operational and financial results”, said Marc Swanson, SeaWorld CEO.

The new role of chief transformation officer is to be held by Chelle Adams, SeaWorld’s current chief financial officer (CFO) and treasurer.

Jim Forrester has been promoted to serve as SeaWorld’s interim CFO and treasurer. Most recently, he was the vice president of finance for the company’s parks in Orlando.

He boasts more than two decades of theme park finance experience, including at the Walt Disney Company, Walt Disney World, and Hershey Entertainment & Resorts.

Additionally, Kyle Miller and Byron Surrett have been promoted to the co-position of chief parks operation officer (CPOO). They will oversee all park operations.

Miller, who was previously the park president of SeaWorld Orlando, Discovery Cove and Aquatica Orlando, will serve as the CPOO of SeaWorld’s parks in Florida.

Surrett will be the CPOO of all the parks outside of Florida. Previously, he served as the park president of SeaWorld San Antonio and Aquatica San Antonio.

Three new park presidents have also been announced for Orlando and San Antonio. These include Jon ‘JP’ Peterson, who has been promoted to park president of SeaWorld Orlando.

Bradley Gilmour is now the park president of Aquatica Orlando and Discovery Cove, and Jodi Davenport has been promoted to park president of SeaWorld San Antonio and Aquatica San Antonio.

Organisational changes at SeaWorld

Finally, Shekufeh Boyle has been named as SeaWorld’s chief accounting officer. All of these promotions and changes take effect immediately.

These leadership promotions and organisational changes will help the company to “better execute our plans and initiatives, capitalize on opportunities, and deliver improved operational and financial results”, said Swanson.

“I’m proud of the progress we’ve made over the past several years, including coming out of the pandemic an even stronger and more profitable business with industry leading results,” he added.

“And I am excited for our plans for 2023 with a terrific line up of new rides, attractions, events and new and improved in-park venues and offerings.”
