Shanghai Disneyland has released images showing that the resort’s “mountain” has been topped-out.
The mountain feature will be one of the tallest structures at Shanghai Disney Resort, second only to Enchanted Storybook Castle.
Disney has a tradition of creating iconic "mountains" since the Matterhorn Bobsleds opened in Disneyland Park in 1959.
Inspired by real locations, these "mountains" are carefully constructed in incredible detail.
There are now more than 20 Disney "mountains" worldwide including:
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad (Disneyland Park, Disneyland Resort, Frontierland, 1979)
Mount Prometheus (Tokyo DisneySea, Tokyo Disney Resort, Mysterious Island, 2001)
Expedition Everest (Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Walt Disney World Resort, Asia, 2006)
Ornament Valley Mountain Range (Disney California Adventure, Disneyland Resort, Cars Land, 2012)
Big Grizzly Mountain Runaway Mine Cars (Hong Kong Disneyland, Grizzly Gulch, 2012)
