Siam Park City plans new entertainment district

News
Siam Park City Bangkok

Bangkok’s Siam Park City is to develop a retail and entertainment district as it seeks to broaden its customer base.

The Bankgok City project is the brainchild of 79-year-old park founder Chaiwat Luangamornlert, writes the Bangkok Post. It will recreate various landmarks from within the old town and other districts of the Thai capital.

Thirteen replica buildings from districts including Chinatown, Sampheng and Khlong Thom will be featured together with a night market. By extending opening hours and entertainment options, the park hopes to reach a wider guest demographic. Currently around 85% of guests are Thai nationals, but more foreign tourists are expected in future.

“With the Bangkok City project, we expect Siam Park will be another entertainment destination for locals and the first place foreigners visit upon arrival in Thailand, and perhaps the last before leaving,” says a spokesperson.
