Quick 6 concept store uses Amazon’s ‘Just Walk Out’ technology

Six Flags Magic Mountain in California has opened an Amazon-powered cashierless shop where guests can buy products without waiting to pay.

The Quick 6 concept store uses Amazon’s ‘Just Walk Out’ technology, which eliminates checkout lines and gives guests more time in the park.

“Our goal is to elevate our guests’ experience and allow them to spend more time making memories instead of standing in line,” said Stephanie Borges, global vice president of Six Flags.

“This collaboration marks a turning point in theme parks, bringing together innovative technology and captivating attractions to create the ultimate experience for our guests.”

The Quick 6 retail outlet is a collaboration between Coca-Cola, Six Flags and Amazon. Guests enter the store using their credit card at the entry gate.

The technology can detect what visitors take from or return to the shelves and creates a virtual shopping trip. When they are finished, guests can leave the store and their payment method will be charged.

The concept store first opened at Six Flags Great Adventure in New Jersey earlier this year. “We are proud of the inaugural launch of the Six Flags Great Adventure store earlier this summer and look forward to success on the West Coast,” said Rachel Chahal, director of amusement and eatertainment partnerships at the Coca-Cola Company.

The checkout-free concept has already been seen in Amazon Go convenience stores, Amazon Fresh locations and Whole Foods supermarkets.

Six Flags recently announced a series of new attractions for its theme parks, including three coasters, DC-themed rides, and family-friendly experiences.
