The company behind Ski Dubai is to provide multiple leisure concepts for Reem Mall in Abu Dhabi. Included in the plans by Majid Al Futtaim is the region’s first indoor snow park.
The upcoming US$1 billion+ mall, opening in 2020, is being developed by National Real Estate Company (NREC) of Kuwait. Over 200,000 square feet – around 10% of total mall space – has been allocated to leisure and entertainment.
To develop this anchor component of the project, Reem Mall has announced a partnership with Majid Al Futtaim Ventures (MAF). The company already operates both Ski Dubai and Ski Egypt. The latter opened earlier this year at the Mall of Egypt in Cairo. Reem Mall’s as yet unnamed 125,00 sq ft themed snow park will include activities such as sledging, zorbing and luge. It will represent the first time MAF has developed a snow attraction away from one of its own shopping malls.
Reem Mall will also feature Majid Al Futtaim Ventures’ Magic Planet family entertainment centre and VOX Cinemas brands. MAF has also signed an agreement to open a Carrefour hypermarket at the mall.

NREC is developing Reem Mall in partnership with UPAC. It will feature 2 million square feet of leasable area, or 2.9 million sq ft of floor space. Around 450 stores and food & beverage outlets will be featured alongside the family-focused leisure and entertainment offering.
