Theme Parks: Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea Parks Attendance Figures for Fiscal Year 2010

News

Tokyo Disney Resort® announced today that the total combined attendance of its Tokyo Disneyland® Park and Tokyo DisneySea® Park Theme Parks for the fiscal year 2010 (ApTokyo DisneySea earth in fountainril 1, 2010 to March 31, 2011) came to 25, 366, 000 people (98.2% or minus 452, 000 people of the attendance figure for the previous year).

For fiscal year 2010, attendance rose in the first three quarters and into the fourth. Tokyo Disney Resort reports that the positive growth is a result of several contributing factors, the parks have held successful special events, as well as opening a new attraction, ‘Mickey’s PhilharMagic’ in January 2011.

It is also thought that favourable weather conditions have also contributed to the rise in attendance. However, in the wake of the Tohoku Pacific Earthquake, operations at both Tokyo Dislandland and Tokyo Disneysea were suspended, resulting in a fall in annual attendance figure which fell short of the annual forecast for the year..

Buildings and facilities at Tokyo Disney Resort were inspected in the wake of the disaster and the safety of both parks has been confirmed. This means that both Tokyo Disneysea and Tokyo Disneyland will aim to re-open as soon as possible, although an exact date is yet to be determined.
