THG Creative celebrates first year of Orlando office

News
THG Creative MCN Office visit

Central Florida location expands the studio’s global reach and design capabilities while connecting to local talent and community

THG, a creative agency specialising in developing attractions for theme parks, museums and brands, is celebrating its first year in its Orlando office.

During this time, the studio has cemented its position as a strategic hub for themed entertainment clients worldwide.

The Central Florida office expands the company’s global reach and design capabilities, bolstering its ability to serve clients on the East Coast, Europe, and the Middle East while providing seamless, real-time collaboration with teams in both this office and the Pasadena studio.

The dual-office approach enables projects to proceed smoothly from conception to completion, as teams work together across time zones to provide faster communication, more flexibility, and fully integrated design support.

Rani Bal, VP of People, says: “This office isn’t just about geography, it’s about community. Orlando puts us in the heart of themed entertainment innovation and right alongside the people shaping its future. We’re building something lasting here, planting seeds with students, with partners, with the neighborhood. It may take time, but we’re investing in something that will grow for years to come.”

“Orlando has given us a chance to go hands-on in ways that really push the design process forward,” says Charlie Jicha, art director. “Whether we’re reviewing materials with clients in person or experimenting in our lab, we’re diving deeper into the creative process and doing it together. It’s not just about growing the business; it’s about growing our team and our community.”

Ideally located for industry & community

The Orlando office offers clients accessibility and capability. Its proximity to key industry hubs and events, such as IAAPA Expo, makes it easy to host in-person meetings, review materials in the design lab, and spontaneously explore solutions.

The combination of in-person interactions together with THG’s established hybrid workflow with Pasadena can help strengthen alignment, expedite decision-making, and give clients confidence that projects can adapt rapidly, even when faced by challenges.

Orlando’s technical design and production strengths complement Pasadena’s creative leadership, resulting in a responsive, end-to-end process that supports clients at every step.

Dan Freedman, director of facility design, says: “What’s special about our Orlando office is that it’s both a launchpad and a learning lab.

“We’ve built a space where young designers can grow alongside seasoned professionals, and where we can engage directly with the local creative community. Whether it’s mentoring students or sketching alongside a client on short notice, the energy here is collaborative, personal, and deeply invested in the future of themed entertainment.”

“You can collaborate on Zoom, but in person, you get to be a sponge,” says Monica Roberts, designer. “You’re sitting next to an art director or creative director, and you’re absorbing so much more just by being in the room.”

Additionally, the Orlando team can access a rich local talent pool, which injects fresh creativity and energy to its work.

The studio connects with the community through university courses, guest lectures, networking events, and collaborations with groups such as the Melanin Coaster Network, Big Break Foundation, and Slice Creative Network.

Volunteer programmes, including work with Second Harvest Food Bank, strengthen THG’s dedication to both the local community and the wider themed entertainment sector.

Annie Cantele, project manager, says: “Orlando felt like a natural fit from the start. There’s so much energy, talent, and community tied to this industry here. What’s been really special is how our team has embraced that. Whether we’re hosting students, volunteering together, or welcoming clients into the office, everyone’s finding a way to contribute and connect.

“It’s made the last year incredibly rewarding.”

THG Creative’s Orlando office is more than a satellite location. After one year, it has become established as a hub where international collaborations and local expertise come together to offer an adaptable, dependable partner in the creation of memorable experiences, while fostering the next generation of themed entertainment talent.

Earlier this year, THG marked the success of the Priddy Family Foundation Freedom Theater at the National World War II Museum in New Orleans. The experience was recognised by the Themed Entertainment Association at TEA INSPIRE 2025 and the Thea Awards Gala.
