Themed entertainment specialist, The Producers Group (TPG), has announced the appointment of Tom Mehrmann to the company’s Board of Advisors.
Mehrmann served as Ocean Park’s Chief Executive for ten years where he achieved record-breaking attendance figures.
Under his direction, attendance at the Hong Kong park rocketed from under 3.0 million to over 7.8 million visitors annually.
Other parks where he has held Vice President and General Management leadership roles include Knott’s Berry Farm, Six Flags Marine World and Warner Brothers Movie World in Spain.
Mehrmann brings ‘proven talents’
Mehrmann said he was enthusiastic about his new role at TPG:
“I find The Producers Group uniquely qualified to create and produce innovative themed entertainment experiences that meet clients’ needs in today’s global market.”
During his career, he has won a number of significant accolades. He was named “CEO of the Year” by the Asia Pacific Customer Relationship Excellence Award in 2009. Also, “Director of the Year” by the Hong Kong Institute of Directors in 2006.
Furthermore, Ocean Park was the first ever Asian recipient of the prestigious “Applause Award” in 2012.
In 2016, he received the prestigious Bronze Bauhinia Star from the Hong Kong SAR Government. This honour is given to individuals who have shown dedication and support to community leadership and the betterment of Hong Kong.
TPG co-founders, Bob Chambers and Edwards Marks, praised Mehrmann’s achievements and the value his expertise brings to the company:

Don Iwerks, who has served on the TPG Board of Advisors since the company’s inception, retires this year.
