Holiday World & Splash’ Safari, Santa Claus is to feature on the Travel Channel and will be offering guests the chance to win a special guest appearance on the show when it shoots. Producers will travel to Holiday World to film an episode of “Extreme Water Parks” and it’s thought that they will also judge the video contest, which will search for featured riders.
“We’re told Mammoth – our new water coaster – was top on their list for this new show, ” says park president Dan Koch.
The “Super Fan Family” competition not only offers the opportunity to ‘star’ in the show, but guests can also win season passes, Holicash, the use of a Bahari
River Cabana and an overnight stay at Lake Rudolph Campground & RV Resort.
Families of up to six are eligible for entry into the competition and full details can be found on the Holiday World website.
“Anticipation for Mammoth has been huge, ” says Koch. “We’re in the testing stage right now and the test dummies come back into the station smiling ride after ride.”
Mammoth is an exciting, record-breaking water ride with seven hills and is more than a third of a mile in length. The ride includes a heart-stopping, 45 degree drop and has six and eight passenger boats, which are “propelled uphill by linear induction motors”.
The Travel Channel’s Extreme Water Parks – Mammoth, is expected to air later this summer and will be available in almost 96 million US households.
Holiday World is all set to open its doors for the summer season on May 5th for its 66th year and has been named America’s #1 waterpark by Trip Advisor. Splashin’ Safari will open a little later on May 11 and will debut Mammoth, the world’s longest water coaster.
