Universal Rocks, an expert in planning, building, and developing themed areas that reproduce the beauty of nature, is celebrating a strong first half of 2026, with a diverse range of completed and ongoing large-scale themed entertainment projects in Europe and a growing international presence.
This year, the company has successfully completed and delivered numerous projects for theme parks, leisure destinations, hotels and resorts, demonstrating its expertise in sprayed concrete, sculpted rockwork, themed façades and immersive environments.
Ranging from major roller coasters to hospitality and retail, this breadth of work demonstrates the team's collaborative approach with designers, artists and clients, combined with its premium artisanship and expertise in sprayed concrete, sculpting and scenic finishes.
Bringing detailed theming to attractions in Europe
Universal Rocks has completed a swathe of large-scale projects in France.
Following its work on the new Aquascope water park, delivered in 2024, the company has partnered with Futuroscope once again for The Specimen, a monumental tree that serves as the focal point of a new indoor walkthrough attraction, La Serre des Mondes (The Greenhouse of the Worlds).

The enormous sculpted tree, entirely created from sprayed, sculpted and painted concrete, anchors the final scene of the experience and is brought to life through large-scale projection mapping.
Additionally, Universal Rocks created the rocky entry archway of T. Rex: In the Footsteps of a Giant. These two new attractions opened for the 2026 season as part of a €300 million investment.
At Fraispertuis City, the company has completed the entire themed environment for the new family shuttle coaster, Fireline Redwood.
This firefighter-themed ride takes place in a massive coniferous forest inspired by Yosemite National Park. Universal Rocks created all the large sprayed-concrete conifer trees and stumps along the track, some of which the ride vehicles pass through directly.

While at OK Corral, the company has sprayed, sculpted and painted concrete theming for Tomahawk, a new Wild Swing attraction. This included a 10-metre-high totem and rockwork that surrounds its cascading water feature.
Additional projects have included the completion of a new themed escape game in Rouen, and a major confidential project that raises theming standards for the European market.
At Parc du Bocasse, Universal Rocks has delivered full theming for Bocastor, a new junior flume ride. This project included all tree trunks and wood-style elements along the track, station façades, wooden railings and shutters, and a giant saw painted with the attraction's name.
For Pendulonium, the new Wild Swing, the rockwork building structure for the queue line has also been completed. The company is now undertaking theming for the upcoming shot tower ride, Flash Tower.
Upcoming environments
Also underway are two new venues at Nigloland. In La Forêt de Niglo, the immersive restaurant Le Terrier is themed around Chochoï the rabbit, and features huge roots and cartoon-style dug-out galleries. La Confiserie de Niglotte is a themed confectionery kiosk celebrating the park's mascot.
These projects follow Universal Rocks' earlier work on Maison de Niglo, Erizo restaurant, and Krampus Expedition.
At Parc Astérix, Universal Rocks is creating all exterior façades for the park's fourth hotel, L'Odyssée. Inspired by Asterix and the Odyssey, the hotel has been designed by French designer Thierry Retif, who is renowned for award-winning themed hotels such as Les Quais de Lutèce.
The project is one of the company's largest to date, and features sprayed, sculpted, and hand-painted concrete across the exterior façades and the large interior courtyard, with four distinct architectural inspirations: Egyptian, Mesopotamian, Phoenician, and Persian.

In Germany, Universal Rocks has delivered all exterior theming for Donnervind at Freizeitpark Plohn. This Mack-manufactured water coaster, which launched in June, features a sculpted fresco visible from the park's main walkway, a giant Viking hammer feature, and a Viking portico that the coaster passes through during the splash.
Meanwhile in Sweden, it is contributing to Liseberg's major water park project, Oceania.
Growing international presence
Internationally, it has completed a giant themed pool area for a new resort in Punta Cana.
Across all these projects, Universal Rocks continues to draw on its expertise in sprayed concrete, sculpting and hand-painting to create robust, richly detailed themed environments customised to each client's creative vision.
The variety of sectors served, including attractions, hotels, restaurants, accommodation, retail, and resorts, demonstrates the company's ongoing growth and capacity to deliver everything from standalone scenic features to fully immersive environments.
The company credits the success of these projects to the trust of its clients and partners, as well as the incredible work of its artists.
In 2026, Universal Rocks continues to strengthen its expertise and has developed and enhanced its skills across all projects, delivering immersive themed environments with close attention to detail.
Recently, the company shared highlights from a successful 2025, which included contributions to more than 15 projects across Europe.
