An indoor waterpark and hotel is being developed as part of the Resorts World Catskills campus close to Monticello, NY.

The Kartrite Hotel and Indoor Waterpark will feature two acres of waterpark space and a 324-room luxury hotel. It is being developed by Ken Ellis and Arthur Berry, co-owners of the Camelback Lodge & Aquatopia Indoor Waterpark in the Poconos.

Berry said: “We’re building upon the family-focused thrills and amenities that have made Camelback Resort & Aquatopia a premier destination in the Pocono Mountains. The Kartrite’s location at the Resorts World Catskills property provides a unique opportunity for us to deliver a whole new adventure for guests as part of a true global destination.”

The Kartrite’s design has been inspired by the architecture of indoor waterparks in Europe. It will feature unobstructed, column-free construction and a barrel-shaped transparent Texlon roof that will allow natural sunlight in throughout the year.

Tropical plants will create a vegetation-rich environment inside the waterpark, that will also include a signature mezzanine with luxury cabanas. The facility is due to open in 2019.

Aquatic Development Group has been contracted to design and build the indoor waterpark. The company has designed, built or provided equipment for 4,000 amusement facilities worldwide, including the likes of Sea World, Disney, Six Flags, Wet ‘n’ Wild, Marriott, Hyatt and Gaylord Resorts.

Resorts World Catskills is an 18-story hotel, casino and entertainment complex with approximately 100,000 square feet of casino floor. It was recently announced that it would open on February 8, several weeks ahead of the previously planned March 1 opening.

In addition to the casino complex and the Kartrite, the Resorts World campus will also include an entertainment village with additional restaurants, accommodations and a golf course.
