Polin Launches New ‘Space Race’ Competitive Waterslide

News

Waterslides expert, Polin Waterparks, has announced the creation of a brand new waterslide that allows families to race against each other.

The geometry of the Space Race slide resembles Polin's own Space Boat bowl slide, but here, they claim, the similarity ends.

Two four-seater rafts enter the Space Race from opposite directions at around 43km an hour and spin around a giant basin until they finally meet in the middle. Designed to ensure both rafts follow the same route, it’s up to the riders to use their bodies by leaning, bending and tilting to gain the advantage. The size of the basin means that both teams can watch each other’s performance all the way.

According to Polin, one of the unique features of the ride is the position of the entry tower which gives queueing guests the opportunity to watch other riders in action and formulate their own tactics.

The unique design of the 218 metre long Space Race ensures that riders enjoy ‘a rush as they speed through every twist and turn while safely separated from collisions’. The rafts finally exit into separate run-outs.

Polin, established in Istanbul, Turkey in 1975, has completed 2500 waterparks projects in 93 countries worldwide.
