Falcon’s Beyond to explore partnership with Tanseisha

Firms will investigate possibilities for new themed entertainment experiences based on popular Japanese IP

Falcon’s Beyond Global, a fully integrated development enterprise for IP-driven parks, resorts, media and merchandise, has announced its plans to work with Tanseisha Co., Ltd., a Tokyo-based firm which designs and creates commercial and cultural facilities.

Tanseisha is well-established in the Japanese market and has a proven track record of collaborating with internationally renowned brands. The two firms plan to explore possible collaborations to create new themed entertainment experiences.  Such projects will present popular Japanese anime and manga intellectual property (IP) in the form of location-based entertainment (LBE), games, movies, and other mediums.

Exploring potential

Falcon intends to introduce its extensive lineup of unique attractions and technology to Japan for the first time to create the new experiences.

The firm’s innovations include ON!X Theater, an award-winning ride system, Suspended Theater, which offers a new approach to creating the feeling of flight, and CircuMotion Theatre, which combines 3D media, omnidirectional motion, and immersive storytelling. Specific IP-focused projects resulting from the partnership will be announced in the future.

Cecil D. Magpuri, CEO of Falcon’s Beyond Global, Inc., says: “We are extremely honored to have Tanseisha at our side as a valued partner as we look to enter the Japanese market. Tanseisha has a wealth of strong connections and expertise combined with their deep knowledge of and access to Japanese IP. Together, we share a mutual love of bringing storytelling to life in new ways and a desire to boldly accelerate toward building the future of immersive themed entertainment.”

Wakamatsu Masato, executive officer and general manager of Cross Media Innovation Headquarters at Tanseisha, comments: “By exploring a partnership with Falcon’s Beyond, with their creative ingenuity and proprietary technologies, we look to expand our potential to bring immersive entertainment experiences to new heights in Japan and around the world. Falcon’s has proven itself as a leader in themed entertainment attractions, and we look forward to introducing and sharing their expertise to our market.”

Unprecedented growth

Falcon’s plans with Tanseisha come during a period of exceptional global expansion for the company, with an ongoing partnership with Qiddiya Investment Company in Saudi Arabia on groundbreaking immersive entertainment projects, as well as cutting-edge virtual sea life entertainment experiences which are being developed across China with Raging Power Limited, an arm of K11 Group.

This development increases the firm’s global footprint in Asia, following its collaboration with K11 in 2023 and its recent establishment of an office in the Philippines.

It also adds to the momentum established by Falcon’s in 2023, when its achievements included becoming publicly traded on Nasdaq as FBYD and launching a landmark recruitment effort for Falcon’s Creative Group business unit, with the aim of doubling its headcount.

Earlier this month, Falcon’s Beyond Global announced that it has entered into a licensing agreement with The Hershey Company to create Hershey-themed LBE experiences.
