I’m a Celebrity… Jungle Challenge will be a jungle-themed experience offering tasks and trials inspired by Main Camp, Croc Creek and Snake Rock.
“The Jungle Challenge team are working hard to get the attraction ready for a 2021 opening, however, as you can imagine we too are having to accommodate the challenges presented by COVID-19,” says a statement on the website.
Visitors will enjoy 90 minutes of challenges, including zip wires, mazes, treetop ropes courses, climbing walls and parachute drops.
Fortunately, live animals will be replaced with virtual elements. The attraction will also boast photo opportunities, including the I’m a Celebrity throne, as well as a gift shop.
Jungle-themed tasks and trials

William van Rest, ITV’s director of games, live and merchandising, said: “We’re trying to create a jungle as closely as we can.
“Some of the games within I’m a Celebrity are things like treetop challenges, and one of the team who helps create the games for I’m a Celebrity is helping us with this.”
Visitors, also known as campmates, will attempt to collect as many stars as possible for the chance to be crowned king or queen of the jungle.
“We have a great team in terms of translating the magic into the attraction, a great relationship with the production team of the programme, and great partners in [Scruffy Dog Creative Group],” Katy Roberts, head of live operations at ITV, told Blooloop.
Lowry Outlet’s £26m regeneration

“Those elements combined mean that we can stay close to the IP, and can create an experience that is as close as we can get to being in the jungle in Australia, while actually being in a shopping centre in Salford Quays.”
ITV is yet to announce an opening date for Jungle Challenge, which is part of a £26 million regeneration of the Lowry Outlet near MediaCityUK, set to become a leisure and retail destination.
I’m a Celebrity… Jungle Challenge will add to ITV’s portfolio of Coronation Street The Tour, Emmerdale Village Tour, the Emmerdale Studio Experience, Ninja Warrior UK, and ITV Daytime Studios Tour at Television Centre in London.
