Imagine Exhibitions, a leader in worldwide travelling exhibitions and entertainment, is celebrating the success of Harry Potter: The Exhibition, which welcomed over 611,000 visitors at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles.

The exhibition was open to the public from 21 April and closed last week on 15 October. It attracted a wide audience demographic which included families, young adults, and teenagers.

Milestones including the celebration of Harry Potter’s birthday on 31 July, the 500,000th visitor on 26 September, and the fans’ yearly Back to Hogwarts celebration, which took place on 2 September in Paris, have contributed to the exhibition’s success.

With over 32,000 square feet and 25 galleries, the exhibition welcomed guests from across France and beyond to celebrate the Wizarding World. The show featured celebratory reconstructions of the Hogwarts Great Hall and Hagrid’s Hut, as well as genuine movie costumes and props from popular characters like Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, Hermione Granger, Professor Dumbledore, and Lord Voldemort. There was also an opportunity for visitors to practice playing Quidditch, and a confrontation with a Hungarian Horntail.

Ongoing tour

Harry Potter: The Exhibition will open at Port Vell in Barcelona, Spain on 17 November in the next instalment of its ongoing European tour. The exhibition will debut in Asia at The Londoner in Macao, China where it will open on 15 December.

Tom Zaller, president and CEO of Imagine Exhibitions, says: “It is with great pride that we close the doors in Paris with over 611,000 visitors in just under six months. It’s been 25 years since the world was introduced to the magic of Harry Potter and I am proud that the exhibition developed by my team was able to remind people of that magic and provide a new and celebratory way to enjoy such incredible stories.”
