Merlin Entertainments has named Susan Ang as the divisional director of its Midway attractions in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region.
Starting on 1 April, Ang will oversee the management, strategies and finances for Merlin’s 32 sites in the APAC area – 22 attractions in Asia and 10 attractions in Australia and New Zealand.
Ang has been with Merlin for more than six years. Most recently, she served as the company’s regional director of Midway attractions for Asia.
She boasts more than 25 years’ experience in the tourism industry and will support Merlin’s APAC region through its next phase of growth.

“The travel and tourism industry is dramatically bouncing back, and I am incredibly proud to take on this new role at such an exciting time for Merlin,” said Ang.
In her new role, Ang will focus on “expanding the current portfolio of attractions, brands and partnerships in the region”.
“Merlin boasts a diverse and inclusive culture, and I aim to deepen this across all teams in the APAC region, achieving our goal to become the greatest place to work in the world,” she added.
Ang replaces Rob Smith, who is returning to the UK and taking on the job of Merlin’s managing director of Midway attractions.
“Susan is a powerhouse within the leisure and tourism industry; she leads with passion and conviction and is a strong, approachable leader with genuine care for people,” said Smith.
Supporting Merlin’s APAC region
“Undoubtedly, the very talented teams across Midway APAC will drive even further success and growth under Susan’s leadership.”
Merlin is continuing to expand, with three Legoland Resorts in China under development and more launches planned across the US and Asia.
Last year, Merlin named Scott O’Neil as its new CEO. Later, Fiona Eastwood was promoted to Merlin’s chief operating officer for Midway attractions and resort theme parks.
Additionally, Paul Moreton has become Merlin’s new chief development officer.
