Frontgrid, an expert in adventure leisure and virtual reality attractions and the creator of ParadropVR, has announced that it will formally launch the Containerised ParadropVR Pod at IAAPA Expo 2025.
Designed for outdoor, pop-up, and event settings, the format delivers high-fidelity, motion-based VR flight experiences to locations that traditional attractions cannot access.
IAAPA Expo is taking place in Orlando from 17 to 21 November, with the show floor open from 18 to 21 November. Frontgrid will be exhibiting at booth #1765.

A new world of possibilities
The Containerised ParadropVR Pod is based on Frontgrid’s compact motion-based Pod, a high-sensation, self-controlled flying platform that provides up to 2.6m of motion.
It offers an advanced, high-fidelity flying experience that brings together precise engineering with immersive content across gamified and narrative-driven worlds.
Since its launch in 2021, the Pod has garnered strong global appeal, thanks to its multiplayer capability, unattended operation, online leagues, and a reliable technical architecture supported by remote diagnostics.
Its new iteration for 2025 combines this established platform with a shipping-container surround to offer a self-contained attraction that can be deployed as a mobile unit, seasonally, or permanently outdoors.
Matt Wells, chief executive of Frontgrid, says: "This opens up a whole new world of possibilities for VR flying. You can literally drop it anywhere — pardon the pun — and instantly unlock a high-quality attraction without the need for major infrastructure.
"It gives operators freedom like never before."

Versatile, scalable system
Frontgrid's fully containerised system is built on the principles of versatility and scalability.
Options include a compact configuration with a 20ft high-cube container and two Pods, making it ideal for mobile routes, seasonal attractions, or smaller outdoor venues.
For high-footfall environments, events, or semi-permanent installations, the capacity can be doubled using a 40ft high-cube container with up to four Pods. The containers are designed for extra mobility, able to be easily seated and transported on a standard truck.
Furthermore, the system is outdoor-ready and robustly engineered for reliable, year-round operation. Installation is simple, supporting both mobile and fixed setups, and is fast to deploy and easy to relocate.
The system supports flexible payment modes, including coin, token, card, or unattended, and an optional all-weather operator kiosk provides staff with a protected workspace and the ability to process cash payments.
Operators benefit from a robust online panel that provides performance monitoring and remote dial-in support for optimal reliability.

The entire unit can also be branded and themed to complement the attraction and drive increased footfall.
These hardware and operational features empower operators to scale the attraction to their environment while ensuring ease of use, reliability, and high throughput.
As such, the Containerised ParadropVR Pod is ideal for a diverse range of outdoor and destination-driven environments, including attractions and leisure sites, brand activations and promotional campaigns, cruise terminals, seasonal experiences, and wherever high-impact, versatile outdoor entertainment is needed.
Choice of content routes
Frontgrid’s content strategy allows operators to customise experiences based on audience, commercial model, and brand identity.
Its subscription arcade game library is continually updated and offers operators high repeat-play value, low-cost access to content, and a tested business model with installations in more than 16 countries, while players enjoy free-roam, gamified flying and global online leaderboards.
Additionally, custom content can include location-based flying and imaginary or themed worlds. These options allow guests to fly over real-world locations or explore custom-built environments complete with brand storytelling, IP tie-ins, and themed seasonal experiences.
For example, in Niagara Virtual, Frontgrid collaborated with Rainbow Air Helicopter Tours to develop the world’s first location-based flying (LBF) experience over Niagara Falls. The project has been named a finalist in the Family/Attractions category of the 2025 Brass Ring Awards.
Both content routes utilise the same motion-controlled platform developed by Frontgrid’s team of paratroopers and adventure specialists, ensuring a consistently authentic flight experience.
Felixble & future-proof
This new format opens strategic possibilities for operators seeking a compelling anchor attraction that can adapt to shifting seasons, sites or changing event calendars.
By combining immersive entertainment with operational freedom, the Containerised ParadropVR Pod offers:
- A high-sensation attraction that occupies a compact footprint
- No building or major infrastructure requirements
- An outdoor-ready design with fast installation
- Portable and re-deployable design for versatile commercial strategies
- Unattended or staffed operation
- Reliable, robust system with remote support
- Scalable, with 2-Pod or 4-Pod container options that can be homed on a truck for additional mobility.
"With the launch of the Containerised ParadropVR Pod, Frontgrid is transforming how VR attractions are delivered — moving high-fidelity flight simulation from indoor venues into the outdoors," says the company. "As IAAPA approaches, interest is expected to increase from operators looking for a flexible, future-proof way to give guests the unforgettable thrill of controlled VR flight."

In July, the first Containerised Pod location opened in Gdańsk, Poland. Two ParadropVR Pods were installed within a 20-foot shipping container, located alongside a prominent Ferris wheel, in order to optimise revenue potential from established visitor footfall.
