Area15 in Las Vegas, the first-ever purpose-built destination for experiential attractions, art and entertainment, is celebrating its 5th anniversary this month.
The attraction began as a 200,000-square-foot venue and has evolved into a 40-acre entertainment district. Since opening in September 2020, Area15 has welcomed more than 15 million visitors.
To mark its 5th anniversary, Area15 is hosting a series of celebratory events this month, including a community gathering, a family rave, more raves, ongoing entertainment under the new Boeing 747, and the Zombie Rumble car festival.
“Area15 was always meant to be disruptive,” said Winston Fisher, chief executive officer at Area15.
“Opening in the middle of a global shutdown only strengthened our resolve to deliver something the world hadn’t seen before.
“Five years later, we’ve surpassed 15 million visitors, welcomed some of the biggest brands in entertainment and set the stage for a future filled with even more boundary-breaking experiences.”
Growth at Area15
Area15 now averages more than 500 ticketed events every year, as well as 500 private bookings. Since launching, it has created more than 1,500 jobs.
This August, Area15 launched its expansion, dubbed Zone 2: The Terminals. This includes the first Universal Horror Unleashed attraction and a number of new experiences.
Universal Horror Unleashed is the first-ever year-round horror experience developed by Universal Destinations & Experiences. Set in an abandoned warehouse, the venue features four haunted houses, themed areas with live entertainment, and spooky food and drinks.
Across the Area15 district, there are now a total of 23 immersive attractions, 11 F&B outlets, and more than 60 sculptures and 30 murals.
Through the end of 2025 and into 2026, Area15 will continue to open new experiences in Zone 2, including Felix & Paul Studios’ Interstellar Arc, the reimagined Boeing 747 multi-use event venue, and the largest-ever Museum of Ice Cream.
Also new at Area15 are robotaxis in partnership with autonomous vehicle company Zoox, which has a dedicated pickup and drop-off location at the site.
