Mary Shelley’s House of Frankenstein in Bath is celebrating its 1st anniversary with copies of Frankenstein hidden around the city and themed cocktails at Bloody Mary’s Bar.
Fans of Frankenstein’s monster who find a copy of Mary Shelley’s novel will win prizes such as free tickets, escape room tickets, VIP guided tours, and the chance to be a ‘scare actor’.
Themed cocktails on offer at the new visitor attraction‘s Bloody Mary’s Bar include ‘Pink Percy’, ‘The Ultimate Bloody Mary’ and ‘Mad-Bad-Byron’.
“Mary Shelley’s House of Frankenstein aims to deliver a unique and entertaining experience,” said Chris Harris, co-founder.
“Mary Shelley’s unconventional life was complex and chaotic, and every bit as grisly as her extraordinary novel. If you think you know Mary or her monster, think again!”
Harris said the attraction offers “an unnerving insight into this extraordinary and gifted young woman and reveals, for the very first time, the 8-foot monster exactly as she imagined”.
Opened in June 2021, Mary Shelley’s House of Frankenstein is the world’s first attraction dedicated to the author and her creation.
It is home to four atmospheric floors of abnormal artefacts, multi-sensory environments, assorted body parts, and an escape room experience called Victor’s Lair.

Additionally, a spine-chilling walk-through experience is available in a foreboding basement with dark alcoves, cellars and vaults.
“We are trying to play on people’s fears, but we’re not taking ourselves massively seriously,” co-founder Jonathan Willis told blooloop.
“With Mary Shelly’s House of Frankenstein, we are creating an experience that, hopefully, people will really enjoy in a visceral way. We want them to come out feeling that the experience was creepy, but also feeling happy.”
Elsewhere, Universal Pictures’ classic monsters are coming together for the first time ever during this year’s Halloween Horror Nights in Florida and California.
