The shortlist for the VE:Forum Visitor Experience Awards has been announced, recognising the amazing work done by teams in museums, galleries and visitor attractions across the UK.

The award ceremony will be held at ​an evening drinks reception following the Visitor Experience Seminar.  Both events are to be held at the Wellcome Collection, London on the 8 August 2018.

The Award Categories & The 2018 Shortlist are as follows:

Visitor Experience Team of the Year

This award is for teams that have consistently delivered excellent an excellent visitor experience and who have worked together to innovate and improve over the last year.

  • Colchester Museums
  • Cornwall’s Regimental Museum

​Visitor Experience Manager of the Year

Visitor Experience Manager of the Year is someone who has excelled in their role and demonstrated their commitment to their team, visitors and venue.

  • Colum Gaskell, National Museums Liverpool
  • Natasha Nardell, The Queen’s Gallery & Royal Mews
  • ​Walney Virgilio, Tate

Launch of the Year

This award identifies VE teams that have led in the delivery of exceptional new openings this year.

  • The Postal Museum

Volunteer Led Visitor Experience of the Year

Volunteer are a crucial part of many visitor attractions teams. This award shines a spotlight on those that have developed and helped to deliver an excellent visitor experience.

  • The Science Museum

Accessible Visitor Experience of the Year

This award recognises Visitor Experience teams who have developed unique projects or initiatives to make their attractions as accessible as possible and embed access into their organisation’s culture.
