Clip ‘n Climb, an international leader in the fun climbing market, is celebrating the launch of three new franchise centres in the UK in a single week.
The locations in Crawley, Wandsworth, and Halifax are now welcoming thrill seekers and family visitors. Together, they have sold over 6,500 tickets during the February half-term period.
“In the fast-paced world of active entertainment, achieving milestones is not just about reaching numbers; it’s about creating unforgettable experiences and building communities. We’re thrilled to announce the grand opening of not one, not two, but three vibrant Clip ‘n Climb franchise centres,” says the firm.
Successful school break
Clip ‘n Climb Crawley, in Sussex, opened on 4 February and was the first of the three new centres to launch. This is the firm’s largest centre in the UK and offers guests 33 challenges, a three-storey soft play area, and the exclusive South Ridge Café.
Over the February half-term school holiday, the Crawley franchise centre received an astounding response, with more than 3,000 climbers plus more than 620 soft play admissions. In addition, the centre welcomed nine group party bookings and has taken bookings for nearly 78 more celebrations at the attraction.
Sarah Cook, owner of Clip ‘n Climb Crawley, says: “We’re thrilled with the success of the launch. Half-term saw nearly full capacity every day throughout the week! Running our own centre and being part of the Clip ‘n Climb journey is incredibly rewarding. We’re eagerly anticipating the busy weeks ahead, with numerous bookings already secured.”
On 7 February, the much anticipated Clip ‘n Climb Wandsworth opened in London. This centre has quickly gained popularity, with 27 thrilling challenges to complete, and a prime location on the high street. It welcomed just under 1,900 climbers during the half-term break, and the party rooms were filled with birthday celebrations.
The party atmosphere is set to continue as the centre has already taken 120 upcoming group bookings, and is taking more every day. Its birthday celebration success was underscored by an exclusive reservation from an A-list movie star couple for their daughter’s birthday party.
Simon Jobson, owner of Clip ‘n Climb Wandsworth, comments: “Thanks to the unwavering support from the Clip ‘n Climb team since day one, I had every confidence that the centre’s opening would be a resounding success! Their continuous availability whenever I reached out has been invaluable. I’m excited to see what the next few months have in store, and hope to expand my Clip ‘n Climb portfolio later this year.”
The launch of Clip ‘n Climb Halifax on 9 February completed the triple-bill of openings. This is the smallest of the three new centres, with 19 challenges which include the hugely popular Vertical Drop Slide. However, its distinctive location within Galactic Golf shows the advantages of extending a multi-activity centre, as 1,626 climbers passed through the doors. In addition to increasing café sales by 850% over the same period last year, Galactic Golf sessions have also increased since the opening.
Paul Ioannou, owner of Clip ‘n Climb Halifax, says: “We are delighted that we made the decision to expand Galactic Golf. Clip ‘n Climb now offers a whole new level of fun and that’s proven by the fact our centre is busier than ever!”
Franchise support
The successful simultaneous launches were supported by the Clip ‘n Climb franchise, which provides ongoing marketing support for each new location for the duration of the partnership.
The firm collaborates with its franchise owners on marketing activities such as influencer engagement, email marketing, website content, social media activity, public relations campaigns, the smooth transition of social media management, and others. This adds to the brand’s strong local presence and online community.
“In the realm of active entertainment, every climb, every party, and every interaction is a testament to the experiences we create. With three centres opening in just one week taking us to a total of seven franchise sites, the journey has only just begun,” the firm comments.
The franchise model is currently only available in the UK, with a range of other business models available worldwide.
Clip ‘n Climb recently revealed the Velocity climbing challenge at IAAPA Expo Europe in Vienna. This challenge introduces side pulls and undercut grips which enables climbers to master new climbing skills.
