CONDUCTR announces The Arena from Game Volt

Advanced competitive socialising experience builds on the success of the Supercharged Shuffle

CONDUCTR (CDTR), the UK-based innovation studio, has announced that its product division Game Volt has released a next-generation competitive socialising experience, titled The Arena.

The Arena consists of a 5-metre (16-foot) square transparent platform which provides a variety of technologically advanced, fast-paced, interactive competitive experiences that are an ideal addition to both food and beverage and leisure destinations. The specification is available here.

Game Volt develops social gaming environments with high spectator value. These have been shown to improve dwell time and provide good ROI through repeatability and secondary purchases.

The Arena builds on the enormous success of its Supercharged Shuffle, a technology-infused interactive take on the classic table game. This is now being rolled out to Dave & Buster’s locations in North America as well as leisure destinations across the world.

Repeatable experiences

The Arena aims to elevate competitive socialising in food and beverage, family, leisure, and retail destinations. The game combines physical and digital gameplay to create a magical and seamless experience.

The small 5-metre (16-foot) square design provides a high spectator value with its entirely transparent exterior. It allows up to eight people to play for 10 to 60 minutes, and visitors to the venue can follow the action, which encourages further bookings.

The unit combines intelligent and invisible tracking technology with immersive content, sound, and tactile solutions to provide futuristic gaming experiences. It features seven interactive systems that map guests, track gaming, and automatically keep score. These include an interactive LED floor, interactive walls, lidar scanning, automated object delivery, and gesture tracking.

Eight games—including high-energy, mental ability, and skill-based experiences—are available at launch for The Arena, and cater to a wide range of preferences. More games are being developed to expand the playbook to 20 by the middle of 2024. Visitors can choose the games they wish to play, and The Arena encourages return visits to beat high scores. Its numerous levels and settings guarantee that experiences are inclusive of all players and that the action is always changing.

As all of the games are powered by intuitive and invisible systems which automatically reset, The Arena does not require a dedicated operator. This further increases the ROI.

Peter Cliff, CEO / founder at Game Volt, says: “The Arena is a heads up not heads down experience that brings to life engaging challenges that combine mental ability with physical agility to deliver a constantly evolving stream of repeatable experiences.

“The Arena may appear to be empty at first glance, but inside we have combined a series of emerging technology innovations that enable natural and intuitive gameplay for maximum fun without being distracted by the technology and minimal operator requirements.

“We believe that The Arena is the future of social gaming. It provides those Instagrammable moments and will continue to evolve with IP collaborations, new games and advancing levels to keep guests coming back for more.”

The Arena will first be available in North America at Dave & Buster’s locations, as part of an ongoing collaboration and initial exclusivity agreement with the brand for Family Entertainment centres.

Last month, CONDUCTR’s product division, Game Volt, presented Supercharged Shuffle at the EAG Expo at ExCel, London.
