ISE 2024: discover a key destination for innovation

20th anniversary edition of the AV and systems integration event will feature the largest trade floor to date and welcome a record-breaking number of visitors

Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) is the largest AV and systems integration show in the world. The 2024 event will take place from 30 January to 2 February at Fira de Barcelona, Spain.

ISE brings together industry leaders from the global professional AV and systems integration industries. The event builds connections between AV solution providers and those that design and use integrated AV and electronic systems across an extensive range of vertical markets.

2024 marks the 20th anniversary of ISE. This milestone is reflected in the event’s new branding, and the biggest show floor to date – which spans eight halls of the Fira de Barcelona Gran Vía. ISE is also expecting to welcome a record number of visitors to the landmark event.

Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) record-breaking event nears sell out

New features of the event include the Plug and Play stage in Congress Square, the ISE Time Tunnel – which celebrates 20 years of ISE technological advancements, and the ISE Audio Museum, featuring Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon PA and WEM’s Pompeii PA, among many others.

The 2024 event also sees an expansion of ISE’s local and regional partnerships. The event will support the Llum BCN Light Arts Festival, and will include the AVL SUMMIT from the Spanish association of AV technology importers and manufacturers, AFIAL. Other collaborating partners include The Impulsa Talentum Foundation, the Catalan Sports Cluster, Casa Batlló, and the Joan Miró Museum.

Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy will deliver the opening keynote address on Tuesday 30 January.

Obaid-Chinoy is the first filmmaker from Pakistan to be awarded an Oscar, and the first female film director to win two Oscars before the age of 37. Her honours include four Emmy awards, a Knight International Journalism Award, and the Hilal-e-Imtiaz, Pakistan’s second-highest civilian honour. TIME magazine has named her as one of its 100 most influential people on earth.

The audiovisual sector is inextricably linked to storytelling, from immersive visitor experiences to compelling advertising campaigns. Obaid-Chinoy’s work exemplifies the power of narrative to inspire, enlighten, and shape the future of audiovisual innovation and its various markets. Her keynote will offer insight into the importance of storytelling and how technology is changing people’s lives.

Creativity & technology

Integrated Systems Europe LED screen & AI art Jeroen van der Most

Digital artist Jeroen van der Most is the keynote speaker on Wednesday 31 January.

Van der Most has received critical acclaim for the use of data, algorithms, and artificial intelligence in his work, which explores the enormous creative possibilities of emerging technologies while also significantly challenging and renewing our understanding of technology itself.

He has worked with organisations such as Amnesty International, NVIDIA, NH Hotels, Sogeti, and Nike – Footlocker. Van der Most has exhibited at venues including ZKM Karlsruhe, CES Las Vegas, Dutch Design Week, Museum De Lakenhal, Centre des Arts Enghien les Bains, Amsterdam KunstRai, and AAF Hong Kong.

In his keynote address, Van der Most will speak about technology, art and AI. In addition, he will present his piece Bee Barcelona, in which he will build an AI-based duplicate of his creative mind. ISE will broadcast this performance on the newly launched transparent LED screen in the South Access.

Potential of AI

The keynote address on 1 February will be presented by acclaimed digital artist Sofia Crespo.

Crespo is known for her work with neural networks and machine learning, and her significant interest in biology-inspired technology. Her practice explores the potential of AI in art and its ability to advance our understanding of creativity.

ISE is sponsoring a projection mapping event at Casa Batlló by the artist to celebrate the 20th anniversary of ISE. In addition, the project will mark the 200th anniversary of Passeig de Gràcia, the location of the iconic Gaudí building.

Blackman says: “Sometimes, it can be difficult to explain to people what the amazing AV technology that visitors experience during our show achieves, but these spectacular digital artworks, and the creativity from artists such as Sofia Crespo, truly showcase AV technology in all its beauty. A big thank you goes out to the team at Panasonic who are a huge support for this breath-taking project.”

Crespo will discuss the projection in her keynote, and will speak on the creative, technological, and production approaches used.

Programme highlights at ISE 2024

The 2024 event features the most extensive content programme to date. Nine conferences are available, covering a wide variety of key topics for the AV and systems integration industries. Accompanying the conferences are a range of immersive demonstrations, thought-provoking panel discussions, and workshops.

The conferences are produced by AVIXA, CEDIA and ISE. They will take place in the CC rooms on Fira Barcelona’s upper walkway. Real-time, AI-powered translation and transcription service provided by KUDO will make the sessions available to as many people as possible.

A new addition to the programme for 2024 is the European / Latin American AV Summit (ELAS). This two-part event is chaired by Mateu Hernández, CEO of Visit Barcelona and supported by the Catalan Government and Barcelona City Council.

It will bring together government representatives and leaders from the AV sector to explore opportunities between the two regions, including Javi López, co-chair of the Euro-Latin American Parliamentary Assembly, Jaume Collboni, Mayor of Barcelona, and leading figures from AV integrators from Brazil, Colombia, Mexico, and others.

The conferences include:

  • Smart Home Technology Conference. CEDIA will discuss a wide variety of topics related to home technology integration, for example, technical installation and design, business excellence, and emerging trends, over almost 60 hours of education.
  • Control Rooms Summit. This conference will explore two vital aspects of the control room industry’s future: cyber security, and approaches to recruitment and people development.
  • Smart Building Conference. This conference will enhance delegates’ understanding of the ROI of smart building. It will also explore ways to profit from smart technology investments.
  • Digital Signage Summit. The session explores potential uses for projectors, location-sensitive LEDs, and displays with effects that depend on the physical spaces and audiences around them.
  • Content Production & Distribution Summit. Delegates will learn about some of the tactics and technology used to create, manage, and distribute promotional and educational video content.
  • Smart Workplace Summit. A two-part summit which encompasses the IT sector’s digital workplace, facility managers’ extensive remit, and the AV industry’s workplace experiences.
  • Education Technology Summit. This summit explores the design of educational experiences to meet the specific requirements, preferences, and digital capabilities of different learners.
  • Live Events Summit. This summit asks what new challenges the live events sector faces now that it has regained its footing? And how can it enhance the immersive experience even further?
  • Sustainability Workshop. This interactive session aims to help delegates evaluate the implications and possibilities brought about by global challenges such as climate change, nature loss, and social resilience.

Congress Square

ISE 2024 will feature a new programme hosted by the innovation platform Plug and Play in Congress Square. The Plug and Play Stage will provide a four-day programme of keynote addresses, panel discussions, and startup presentations.

This year, Congress Square will also feature a significantly extended Discovery Zone. This will present over 70 companies which are new to ISE since 2022, and offer an extensive range of solutions.

It will also host the Catalonia Pavilion, which features local AV enterprises and showcases business growth opportunities. The Catalonia Pavilion also hosts the ISE Open Innovation Challenge technology matchmaking initiative, which will be presented once again by ACCIÓ (the Catalonia Trade & Investment Agency) and Enterprise Europe Network.

The Catalan Audiovisual Cluster and the Barcelona City Council, showcasing local start-ups, will also be located in Congress Square.

Tech Tours

ISE 2024 will feature an extended programme of Tech Tours. Nine tours are running across five days in collaboration with the Catalan Audiovisual Cluster. They offer a unique opportunity to see innovative technologies from the ISE show floor in action.

Examples of the tours on offer include a chance to see the new America’s Cup Experience and dive into the history of the iconic yacht race; an opportunity to visit Tutankhamun, The Immersive Experience; and a tour to the Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC) headquarters to see the new MareNostrum 5 quantum supercomputer.

The show floor will feature a diverse range of over 1300 exhibitors. These include more than 80 organisations that are showing at ISE for the first time.

7thSense – stand #5G110

7thSense, the multi-award-winning media solutions specialist, is celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2024. It will be showcasing its range of media serving, show control and pixel processing tools at ISE in Barcelona. The team will be on hand to discuss and demo their latest tech and feature releases.

In addition, the 7thSense team will be supporting its partners with on-stand demonstrations. They can be found with Sony at booth #3E300, and Silicon Core at booth #5F440.

In 2023, the firm was honoured with a King’s Award for International Trade, as well as numerous awards for its product ranges. A further highlight from last year was the launch of The Sphere Las Vegas, where 7thSense powered the internal and external LED displays.

On Thursday 1 February, The Sphere Panel Session will explore the technology used in this extraordinary attraction. This session will be from 3.45 pm – 5 pm in room C5.3, with host Todd Staszko of MONDO-DR. Representatives from 7thSense, Holoplot and Powersoft will discuss how their technologies brought to life the world’s largest spherical LED structure.

AV Stumpfl – stand #3A500

AV Stumpfl, Austrian award-winning creator of mobile and installation projection screens, multi-display and show control systems, will showcase its innovative AnyShape projection screen technology, the newest PIXERA 2.0 software features, and its new PIXERA GEN 2 media server hardware.

AnyShape technology enables custom-built projection screens to be created with a wide range of frame shapes. The option of creating non-rectangular frames, such as circles, rounded edges, or half circles, has the potential to transform how projection surfaces are used.

AV Stumpfl will also present its new 21:9 offering, the latest MonoBlox mobile projection screen system, and BLACKPEAK, a black projection screen surface material that provides remarkable black levels and a high contrast ratio even in ambient light environments.

The PIXERA team will also be at the booth, where they will showcase new PIXERA hardware and software solutions including PIXERA version 2.0, which features multi-user workflow capability, Content Remapping, N+1 backup options and dry client programming capabilities.

The team will also launch GEN 2 hardware for PIXERA one and PIXERA two servers at ISE 2024, and plan to share new developments regarding the new MPTE 2110 standard.

Barco – stand #2M100

Barco, the technology company focusing on innovative visualisation solutions, will launch its latest ClickShare product at ISE 2024. This new innovation combines equity and sustainability while offering a flexible, user-friendly, and affordable solution for the meeting room.

The firm will also present two new projection platforms as well as a next-generation image processing solution. All three products are designed to exceed visual expectations and provide enhanced usability, accompanied by lower TCO and energy usage.

In addition, delegates can discover Barco’s products for control rooms, including the Barco CTRL hardware and software platform, TruePix LED video wall, and its new LCD video wall, Barco UniSee II.

Beckhoff – stand #F500

Beckhoff Automation, a leader in PC based control technology, will be at Barcelona to show attendees how to use open automation solutions to create the ultimate visitor experience. The firm will demonstrate how to integrate all technical systems – from audio and video systems to lighting and stage technology – on a single platform complete with secure automation.

The family-owned firm creates open automation systems based on PC-based control technology and the fieldbus technology EtherCAT. Its products and technologies are used in a range of industries and applications, such as the entertainment sector, museums, and retail.

Beckhoff ISE 2024

Christie – stand #3K500

Christie, the global visual and audio technology company, will showcase how its smart technologies can deliver unforgettable experiences on stand #3K500 in Hall 3 at ISE 2024.

The firm’s theme for 2024’s show is “Experience is Everything”, and visitors can talk to Christie representatives about solutions to projects they have underway and view the latest technologies.

Christie is a founder exhibitor at ISE and will present a host of technologies in its 20th year at the event. These innovations will range from 3DLP RGB pure laser projectors, 1DLP laser projectors and LED video walls to content management and processing solutions.

Dataton – stand #3R700

Dataton, a global leader in audio visual software for visitor experiences, will present a major new release of its WATCHOUT show composer software at ISE 2024, booth 3R700.

WATCHOUT 7 provides programmers with more power, sophisticated workflows and easy optimisation. The new asset management enables teams to work more efficiently, and overall performance has improved significantly.

The release includes new audio and visual engines, allowing for the creation of even more stunning displays. New workflows for assets, auto-calibration and nodes, and more improve programming efficiency. Support for high-quality file formats, 10-12 bit colour depth, and HDR is also now available.

Over several months, WATCHOUT 7 has been rolled out to a small number of clients. Dataton will be demonstrating the first general release, WATCHOUT 7.1, at booth #3R700 at ISE 2024.

Digital Projection – stand #3K700

Digital Projection, a specialist in laser projectors, will present two of its most advanced laser projectors to date at ISE 2024.

The E-Vision 16000i WU features a newly improved electronics platform that shares much of its functionality with the flagship TITAN series. It uses Texas Instruments’ new 0.8” High Efficiency Pixel (HEP) DMD, which enables brightness of 16,000 ISO lumens, with exceptional colour and contrast. The E-Vision 10000i offers the same functionalities as the 16000i, with 9,600 lumens brightness and 20,000:1 dynamic contrast.

The firm will also showcase its updated Satellite MLS with new, improved light sources and fibres. It will present the Europe debut of its all-new TITAN family of projectors, which provide exceptional brightness and accuracy for a broad range of commercial applications. The new models have been designed for efficiency and size. They reposition the TITAN as the “Smallest, Lightest, Brightest and Quietest projector in its class.”

The Elumenati – book a meeting

The Elumenati, a designer of innovative solutions for immersive and interactive experiences, has been creating globes, domes, and bespoke installations for 21 years.

In this anniversary year, the firm will celebrate the first installations of its OmniLED line. These products facilitate immersive and spherical displays in the brightest lighting conditions. 2024 will also see the continued use of the GeoDome range of turnkey solutions. This is powered by OmniFocus immersive projection and uses the firm’s WorldViewer content engine to create social, interactive experiences for commercial, educational and entertainment venues.

Highlite – stand #4K300

Highlite International, a leading supplier of show, audio and light equipment, will present the new additions to its range of lighting, sound and audiovisual products at ISE 2024.

Visitors to stand #4K300 can see the new DAP Frigga column PA system and NRG PA loudspeakers. Both are ideal for both on-site performances and fixed installations. Holoplot – stand #7G700

HOLOPLOT, a science-based immersive audio company, will be bringing its acclaimed X1 product series to ISE and will showcase the sound of Sphere at Audio Demo Room B2 in Hall 8. In addition, the firm will present its new compact Matrix Array X2. This innovation offers exceptional clarity for speech and multi-content applications.

The firm’s technology gives users precise control over sound in both the horizontal and vertical axes, allowing them to navigate even the most difficult acoustic settings. It provides high-quality, realistic audio for stereo deployments with exceptional speech intelligibility. Users can also add and explore creative capabilities to enhance immersive sound designs.

The X1’s unique features address complex acoustic challenges in both large, high SPL situations and smaller, more intimate settings with high-fidelity audio. HOLOPLOT works to continually improve and enhance the functionality and capabilities of its systems. At ISE, it will announce the new operating system, OS 2.0. L-Acoustics – stands #7F150 & #2G500

L-Acoustics, industry leaders in designing and manufacturing sound systems and technology, will be demonstrating its new products in Audio Demo Room #B4. It will also be on the show floor at booths #7F150 and #2G500.

In Audio Demo Room #B4, the firm will showcase L-Acoustics Integration solutions. These enable a full range of projects from traditional stereo to immersive – and beyond.

Install-specific solutions including Soka, LA7.16i, L-ISA, and Milan AVB will be available. There will also be discussions of L-ISA, Ambiance Acoustics System, Milan AVB, and third-party interoperability. Delegates can also discover the expanding ecosystem of L-Acoustics
solutions for the integration market.

Visitors to the L-Acoustics booth in Hall 7 #7F150 can discover the LC16D network converter and the new L Series. In addition, booth #2G500 in Hall 2 offers a Listening Lounge with a 7.1.4 system which showcases spatial audio reproduction for the home with L-Acoustics installation loudspeakers, amplifiers, and an LA7.16i amplified controller. The system uses X8 coaxial loudspeakers for left/centre/right and X4i for surround and height channels.

Listen Technologies – stand #3Q220

Listen Technologies, a provider of assistive listening, multi-language audio transmission and live-streaming audio solutions, will be at stand #3Q220. It is showing with its partner Ampetronic, a world-leading provider of audio induction loop systems. Together, the firms will present the latest innovations in assistive listening systems.

The full suite of Listen Technologies’ wireless listening solutions will be available to experience at the booth. This will include ListenWIFI, its next-generation audio over Wi-Fi assistive listening system. Panasonic Connect Europe – stand #3J500

Panasonic Connect, a leading audiovisual technology provider, will present its latest ground-breaking developments in visual and proAV technology for entertainment, education and business collaboration at its ISE 2024 stand, #3J500. In addition, the firm will showcase AVoIP and its SDM-enabled solutions. These are designed to easily share content between any location.

Visitors to the stand can explore three themed areas. In the Entertainment area, they will discover an immersive, interactive universe, and the corporate studio will offer a first look at Panasonic’s ground-breaking Media Production Suite, with 2nd generation live IP production platform KAIROS.

The Education area demonstrates how teachers, students, and content can integrate in hybrid learning environments. Panasonic will also demonstrate its teacher auto-tracking for lecture capture and collaborative working solutions.

Visitors to the Business Collaboration area can enter an immersive conference space. Here, the next generation of digital-native professionals can turbocharge idea development. Content and information can be exchanged instantly, audiences can be engaged with presentations and training sessions that capture their curiosity, and hybrid meetings will feel as if all participants are present.

Powersoft – stand #7E700

Powersoft, the Italian amplifier specialist, will launch the Verso gateway and new lower-power Unica models at ISE 2024.

Attendees can see how the Verso gateway enables system integrators and IT managers to fully leverage the MyUniverso cloud platform. MyUniverso, previously known as Universo, has merged with MyPowersoft, allowing all MyPowersoft account holders to use the cloud platform.

Verso is a half-RU device designed to provide access to the MyUniverso cloud platform. This access includes all of the capabilities on the current Powersoft amplifier line. Every linked amplifier can benefit from centralised remote firmware upgrades and monitoring. In addition, the system also supports Powersoft’s well-known Dynamic Music Distribution (DMD) solution.

Visitors to the Powersoft stand can meet the team and discover Verso’s logging and data storage capabilities. These allow for local continuity of service even during internet outages. The team will also present the new lower-power Unica 1K8 and Unica 5K4, which are ideal for smaller applications.

ISE’s 20th-anniversary event is set to be a memorable show for the AV and systems integrations sector.
