Liftoff is an open-air ride at AREA15 in Las Vegas, providing spectacular views of the skyline and mountains.

Liftoff, a panoramic skyline experience, is set to open to guests at AREA15 on February 3, with pre-sale tickets for the attraction on the Las Vegas Strip now available.

Liftoff is an open-air ride providing spectacular views of the Vegas skyline and mountains. It joins myriad other experiences at AREA15, an immersive art, events and entertainment district.

The attraction, billed as an ‘imbibe-and-ride experience’ includes the Liftoff Lounge. This is a full-service bar and open-air lounge inspired by aeronauts and aviators. Visitors can enjoy a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks aboard the ride.

Guests will be strapped into their seat with their feet dangling in the air, before ascending to the 130-foot summit. Liftoff features lighting and sound effects to create an immersive experience.

Constructed from more than 44 tonnes of steel, Liftoff features a 16-seat gondola that rotates 360-degrees. It was manufactured by Aerophile, the world leader in balloon flight, and will be the first of its kind built in the US.

Also launching at AREA15 this year is Illuminarium, a new sensory experience that takes guests to recreated worlds, from the bottom of the ocean to outer space, without the use of glasses or wearable equipment.

Elsewhere, the Park Avenue Mall, a series of green spaces and traffic medians on Park Avenue in New York City’s Midtown East, may be turned into a corridor of experiential galleries and venue spaces, New York Yimby reports.

In 2018, Fisher Brothers sponsored a design competition called Beyond the Centerline for the Park Avenue Malls project. The winning entry, Park Park, proposes elevated platforms that would serve as flexible art and recreational spaces.

“Since the inception of our ‘Beyond the Centerline’ design competition, Fisher Brothers has understood the power that transforming Park Avenue has to breathe new life into East Midtown and spur economic growth,” said Winston Fisher, partner at Fisher Brothers and CEO of AREA15.

“Now more than ever, we need to prioritize investments in innovative open spaces that attract companies, workers, and tourism back into our central business districts to revitalize the office, retail, restaurant, and attractions ecosystem that makes Midtown thrive.”
