Immotion to open VR centres in Birmingham and Weston-Super-Mare

Immotion, the UK-based virtual reality ‘out of home’ entertainment specialist, is to open two new VR centres in the Birmingham and Weston-Super-Mare.

The first new centre will open in Birmingham’s Star City amusement centre.

The fully immersive virtual reality experience (VR) uses motion simulators, wrap-around sound and multi-direction movement to take guests on out of this world journeys. From travelling around the globe with Santa’s elves, to jetting into space trying to save civilisation.

Experiences start from £5 and there are a range of virtual worlds to explore including the Legend of Lusca and also Delta Zero.

Tom Barnes, Centre Manager for Star City said, “We’re delighted to welcome ImmotionVR to Star City, with their truly immersive technology and amazing virtual worlds to explore – guests will be able to take their visits to Star City to a whole new dimension.”

Immotion comes to Weston-Super-Mare

Immotion will also be coming to Weston-Super-Mare’s Grand Pier.

The popular seafront attraction is unveiling a virtual reality (VR) experience zone next week. It will be the first of its kind in Somerset, with six full motion experience pods.

“It offers incredible virtual reality content with stunning wrap-around sound and multi-directional movement, a truly unique, immersive environment.”

A “state-of-the-art experience”

Tim Moyle, General Manager of the Grand Pier, said: “We are always looking for new and exciting additions to the wide variety of attractions we already have here on the Pier, so that we have something to offer people of all ages.

“We’re particularly excited about the VR experience centre, as it is a truly state-of-the-art experience, with options for thrill-seekers and younger guests alike.

“We can’t wait to see people’s reactions to the VR experience centre. Hopefully, guests will want to try out all six of the VR experiences on offer. We look forward to finding out which one they enjoyed the most.”

Last month, Immotion announced a number of new ImmotionVR Experience Centres around the world. These will include its first outlet in Middle East as well a big push into the United States.

Immotion is aiming to become the leading provider of out-of-home VR experiences. In 2017, they raised £1.3 million to develop high-end virtual and augmented reality experiences in Europe and also the US. In May 2018, the company went public with a listing on London’s junior stock market AIM.
