SeaWorld Abu Dhabi, Natural History Museum on track to finish in 2022 and 2025

SeaWorld Abu Dhabi is located on Yas Island, while the Natural History Museum is on Saadiyat Island.

Miral has confirmed that SeaWorld Abu Dhabi and the Natural History Museum Abu Dhabi are on track to complete in 2022 and 2025, respectively.

During this year’s Arabian Travel Market (ATM), Miral revealed that it has invested over AED 9 billion in developing world-class attractions and experiences on Yas Island.

“We are delighted to take part in Arabian Travel Market 2022, which provides us with the perfect opportunity to showcase Miral – past, present and future,” said Miral CEO Mohamed Abdalla Al Zaabi.

Since 2011, Miral has added several major attractions to the island, which is home to Ferrari World, Yas WaterworldWarner Bros World Abu Dhabi, and CLYMB Abu Dhabi.

AED 9 billion invested in Yas Island

SeaWorld Abu Dhabi is set for completion in 2022. The next-generation marine life park will cover an area of 183,000 square metres on Yas Island.

It will include the Yas SeaWorld Research and Rescue Center, as well as the world’s largest aquarium with 25 million litres of water.

In 2020 and 2021, Miral launched several projects on Yas Island. Yas Bay Waterfront opened last year, as did the WB Abu Dhabi Hotel – the world’s first Warner Bros.-themed hotel.

In addition, the company delivered FacePass in 2021, a cutting-edge contactless technology that uses facial recognition to streamline the guest experience.

Miral has also partnered with DCT Abu Dhabi to develop the Natural History Museum Abu Dhabi on Saadiyat Island, which is set to be completed in 2025.

Al Zaabi said Miral is looking forward to “building more immersive attractions, world-class destinations, and enhanced guest experiences as we contribute to Abu Dhabi’s tourism growth and position it as a global destination for visitors from all around the world”.

Home to some of the rarest specimens on the planet, the Natural History Museum Abu Dhabi will span 13.8 billion years through time and space. The centrepiece is a $32m Tyrannosaurus rex skeleton

The museum will join the Louvre Abu Dhabi on Saadiyat Island, as well as the upcoming Zayed National Museum and Guggenheim Abu Dhabi.
